In this article I will be sharing with you 10 Nigerian celebrities who passed away in the year 2018, the cause of their death and the period they were called to glory.
Baba Sala
Nigerian comic actor Moses Adejumo popularly known as Baba Sala was reported dead on Sunday 7th October 2018 in Ilesha, Osun State. The actor died at the age of 81 years old. According to his media assistant, Isaac Hastrup, he revealed that the actor died due to old age related sickness. Baba Sala was one of the pioneers of comedy movie in Nigerian movie industry.
Tosyn Bucknor
On Monday night of 19th November 2018, talented on-air personality Tosyn Bucknor was reported dead. The deceased was found dead by her French husband Aurelien Boyer when he returned from work.
Ras Kimono
Famous Nigerian reggae singer Ukeleke Onwubuya popularly known as Ras Kimini died on Sunday 10th June 2018 in Lagos. Ras Kimono was reportedly supposed to travel to the United States on Saturday 9th June 2018, before he fell down and was rushed to a hospital in Ikeja, where he was later referred to Lagoon Hospital on the Island where he died.
Aisha Abimbola
The actress who had been fighting cancer went to Canada for schedule chemo therapy. Unfortunately, the heavy treatment badly affected her body and her heart stopped beating. Aisha Abimbola later died in Toronto on Tuesday 15th May 2018.
Chike Osuji
On 14th August 2018, the list of Nollywood actors who died recently grew by one as the well-known veteran movie star Chike Osuji passed away from a heart attack. The man came from Umuokoro Awaka in Owerri North Local Government Area of Imo State.
Ezeora Nelson Oluchukwu
A rising Nollywood star who left unexpectedly in the prime of youth was Ezeora Nelson Oluchukwu but popularly referred to as Nelson Gold. He was not only a brilliant actor, but also a screen writer. The actor slipped into a coma and died at the age of 26.
Okwy Chukwujekwu
In September 2018, rising star actor Okwy Chukwujekwu also known as Main Bossman was reported dead. He died after having an asthma attack. The deceased was buried few weeks after his sudden death.
Nora Nkeiruka Ugo
On 28 January 2018, fast rising Nollywood actress Nora Nkeiruka Ugo was reported dead. She was said to have given up the ghost after a battle with an undisclosed ailment. Her close friends immediately took to their social media handles to mourn her death.
Chukwudi Anachina Bambino
Famous film producer Chukwudi Anachina popularly known as Bambino died on 16th June 2018. He was said to have died in his sleep. He graduated from the Federal Polytechnic in Oko, Anambra State.
Chris Ekejimde
Nollywood actor Chris Ekejimba was reported dead on Saturday 20th October 2018. According to one of his friends, the deceased was ill for a while and may have been last seen in public at the Nigerian Creative industry summit at Protea Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos in September 2010. He died at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH). He was allegedly given an overdose of the malaria drug.
