In this article I will be sharing with you 10 Nollywood Actors and Actresses who died in 2019. As we all know the Nigerian movies industry has produced many Nollywood actors and actresses over the years and at the same time lost most of them to the cold hand of Death. The Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood has lost icons within the short period of the year 2019 and it is been a sad occurrence.

Death, as we all know is inevitable. It has no respect for any man or woman. So therefore after a careful study and research I present to you 10 Nollywood actors and actresses who died in 2019.

1. Eddie Ugboma

Eddie Ugboma is a prominent Nollywood actor who always plays the role of a title chief in movies. He died on 11th May 2019 after a health challenge. He would be remembered for his role as Oyenusi in the Nollywood action thriller movie “Oyenusi” which talks about the great criminal that terrorize Nigeria in the early 70s. Eddie Ugboma is one of the best actors in Nigeria to remember. He died on 11th May 2019 due to health challenge the age of 78 years old.

2. Henry Okoro

Henry Okoro is a prominent Nollywood movie director and actor who is known for his romantic role in movies. The handsome Nollywood actor died following injuries sustained during a fatal accident that occurred on 11th May 2019. He was an actor before taking a backseat to work as director and producer after a decade. He died on 11th May 2019 at the age of 36 years old after having a ghastly motor accident which took his life.

3. Adio Majester

Adio Majester is a prominent Nollywood actor known for his fatherly role in movies. He passed away on Tuesday 7th May 2019 in the intensive care of an undisclosed hospital. He died at the age of 50 years old. He has featured in numerous movies and a number of stage plays in his career as an actor before his demise.

4. Prince Dammy

Prince Dammy Eke is a prominent Nollywood actor known for his occultic role in movies. He died on 28th April 2019 at the age of 41 years old. The actor reportedly slumped and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead. Before his death he was known as one of the best outspoken actor in Nollywood.

5. Alfred Rotimi

Alfred Rotimi Popoola is one of the prominent actor in Nigeria from Yoruba descent. He passed away on Thursday 27th February 2019 in Abeokuta, Ogun State in the south western part of Nigeria. He died at the age of 51 years old. Alfred Rotimi Popoola has featured in several Nollywood movies before his demise.

6. Duke Oliver

Duke Oliver is one of the prominent actors in the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood. He passed away on 2nd April 2019 at the age of 45 years old. He passed away after a car crash on his way to Lagos from his mom’s burial. He is famous for his role as Sylvanus in the television sitcom ‘Do Good.’

7. Abe Ishola

Abe Ishola Monsurat Olabisi popularly known as Abe Ishola is a prominent Nollywood actress from Yoruba descent. She passed away on Saturday, 30th March 2019 at the age of 39 years old. Her death was announced few days after she delivered a bouncing baby girl. Abe Ishola features mostly in Yoruba speaking movies and has been described as one of the best actress in indigenous language (Yoruba) and always known for featuring in romantic movies.

8. Adewale Olanrewaju

Adewale Olanrewaju is a prominent Nollywood actor and producer popularly known as ‘I show Larry’. He features mostly in Yoruba speaking movies. He died on Monday, 21st January 2019 at the age of 36 years old.

9. Funmilayo Ogunsola

Funmilayo Ogunsola is a prominent Nollywood actress from Yoruba descent. She passed away on Monday, 4th February 2019 in Ibadan, Oyo State in the south western part of Nigeria. She died at the age of 58 years old. She was a Yoruba popular actress and was married to the late movie star Ishola Ogunsola.

10. Gbenga Akintunde

Gbenga Akintunde is a prominent Nollywood actor known for featuring only on Yoruba speaking movies. He died on Thursday, 3rd January 2019 at the age of 47 years old, after visiting the hospital to complain of malaria.
