Nigeria has faced chaos and the worst violence since the #EndSars protest began few weeks ago. It first started as a peaceful protest and later turned to violence, conflict and crisis after hoodlums hijacked the protest. Lives were lost, properties worth billions of naira were destroyed and the worst part is the massacre of peaceful protesters at the Lekki Tollgate.
However, during this revolution journey they are few Nigerian celebrities who stood at the forefront during the #EndSars protest. So therefore after a careful study and research I present to you 15 Nigerian celebrities who were at the forefront in the #EndSars protest.
1. Zubby Michael
Zubby Michael a famous Nollywood actor and producer who led the peaceful protest in Awkuzu, Anambra state with over 300 Nigerian youths. During the protest the Governor of Anambra State Willie Obiano promised to enforce their demands, protesters in police custody were release and the notorious Awkuzu Sars OC was sacked and prosecuted.
2. Yul Edochie
Yul Edochie is a famous Nollywood actor and producer who led the peaceful protest in Anambra State with over 300 Nigerian youths. During the protest Yul Edochie played a key role by making sure that the protest was peaceful and without any violence. He made sure that no protesters were arrested by the police.
3. Falz
Falz is a Nigerian music legend and a rapper who led the peaceful protest in Lagos State with over 1000 Nigerian youth. Falz was declare the hero of the #Endsars protest because he was the first Nigerian celebrity that started the protest. During the protest Falz met with the Lagos State government and tabled their demands.
4. Davido
Davido is a Nigerian music legend and the boss of DMW who led the peaceful protest in Lagos and Abuja with over 1000 Nigerian youths. He made sure that the protest was peaceful. He met with the Inspector General of Police one on one and tabled the demands of Nigerian youths before the IG and after which Sars was disbanded.
5. Wizkid
Wizkid is a Nigerian music legend the boss of Star Boy Entertainment who led the peaceful protest in the United Kingdom with over 500 Nigerian youths. He made sure that the whole worlds see what Nigerian youths are going through. Wizkid alongside with several other Nigerian celebrities held their protest in various part of UK.
7. Flavour
Flavour is a Nigerian music legend and the boss of 2nite Entertainment who led the peaceful protest in Enugu with over 300 Nigerians youths. He met with the Governor of Enugu State Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and tabled their demands before him. He made sure that the protest was peaceful without any form of violence. He was accompanied by other Nigerian top celebrities.
7. Tiwa Savage
Tiwa Savage is a Nigerian music star and a self proclaim African bad girl who led the peaceful protest in Lagos with over 500 Nigerian youths. Tiwa Savage alongside with other top Nigerian celebrities held a massive protest in Lagos and met with the Lagos State governor and tabled their demands before him.
8. Omotola Jalade
Omotola Jalade has pledged her loyalty to Nigeria by joining and lending her voice to the #EndSars protest. Omotola Jalade is a Nollywood actress and a producer who led a massive protest in Lagos and agitated for the right of Nigerian youths she was accompanied with other Nigerian celebrities. She spoke her mind and told the government to listen to the cry of the youth.
9. Aisha Yesufu
Aisha Yesufu is a Nigerian human right advocate. She was the socialite and political activist who voiced up for the abducted chibok girls by Boko Haram in 2014. She also led the Bring Back Our Girls protest which garnered international concern and now she has pledged her loyalty to our country Nigeria again in the #ENDSARS protest. He led a massive Nigerian youths to protest against Police brutality.
10. Genevieve Nnaji
Genevieve Nnaji is a Nollywood actress and producer who gave the accurate report on twitter as an Eye witness to CNN in regards to the Lekki Toll Gate shooting, despite lending her voice to the #EndSars protest. She played a key role in the massive #EndSars protest in Lagos by making sure that the protest was peaceful without any violence.
11. DJ Switch
Obianuju Udeh popularly known as DJ Switch was the one that went on live video during the Lekki toll gate shooting on peaceful #EndSars protesters, and also helped to attend to the casualties of which without her being there, the world wouldn’t have known about the scenario.
12. Ayo Makun (AY)
Ayo Makun popularly known as AY is a Nigerian stand up comedian and businessman who led a massive number of Nigerian youths at the lekki tollgate to protest against police brutality. He made sure that the protest was peaceful and told all the protesters to come out with a Nigerian flag and wave it for the world to see their loyalty in Nigeria even though the Governor imposed a 24 hours curfew. Sadly it was during this protest that many Nigerian youths lost their lives in the hands of the Nigerian army.
13. Emma Ehummadu
Emmanuel Ehummadu popularly known as Labister according to reports led the Abia State #EndSars protest before he was arrested by the police and released afterwards. He led a massive protest with Nigerian youths numbering about 500 in Abia State and went ahead to see the governor of Abia State.
14. Angela Okorie
The gorgeous Nollywood actress gave her full support and led Ebonyi State in the #EndSars protest and was among those who raised alarm through a live video on instagram during the lekki toll gate shooting. Angela Okorie led a massive protest in Abakaliki and went ahead to see the governor of Ebonyi state.
15. Tacha
Natacha Akide popularly known as Tacha is an Ex-BBNaija housemate who led the peaceful protest in Port-Harcourt. She led a massive protest of Nigerian youths numbering about 400 to table their demands before the governor of Rivers State. She made the move with courage despite the fact that the Governor announced no #EndSars protest in the State.
