Nollywood is not just a Nigerian film industry, it is also a film industry for many African countries. That is why we refer to Africa actors as Nollywood actors. In this article I will be sharing with you 15 famous Nollywood actors who are originally from Ghana. Many people are still mistaking these actors as Nigerians because they have had a lot of connection with Nigerian actors and many people assume them to be Nigerians.

John Dumelo is a Ghanaian actor, film producer and a model. He is the last boy in a family of three children. He was born on 3rd February 1984 in Accra, Ghana. He attended Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He joined Nollywood in 2001.
2. Van Vicker
Van Vicker is a Ghanaian actor, film producer, television personality and a model. He was born on 1st August 1977 in Ghana to a Liberian mother and a Dutch father. He is a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Ghana. He joined Nollywood in 2001.
3. Chris Attoh
Chris Attoh is a Ghanaian actor, on-air personality, television presenter and a film producer. He was born on 17th May 1979 in Accra, Ghana. He is a graduate of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology where he studied Theatre Arts. He joined Nollywood in 2006.
4. Majid Michel
Majid Michel is a Ghanaian actor, a film producer, a television personality, a model and a pastor. He was born on 22nd September 1980 in Accra, Ghana to a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mother. He grew up in Accra with his nine siblings. He is a graduate of Theatre Arts from the University of Ghana. He joined Nollywood in 2001.
5. Kofi Adjorlolo
Kofi Adjorlolo is a Ghanaian actor, film producer, film director and a television personality. He was born on 14th June 1956 in Keta, Ghana. He is a graduate of Mass Communication from the University of Ghana. Before acting, he worked as a civil servant and a radio presenter in Accra, Ghana. He joined Nollywood in 2005.
6. Prince David Osei
Prince David Osei is a Ghanaian actor, model, film producer, film director and a television personality. He was born on 6th December 1983 in Accra, Ghana. He attended University of Ghana and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in English, Sociology and Theatre Arts. He joined Nollywood in 2005.
7. Frank Artus
Frank Artus is a Ghanaian actor, model, film producer, film director and a television personality. He was born on 4th May 1979 in Monrovia, Liberia to a Liberian father and a Ghanaian mother. He attended AME University in Monrovia, Liberia where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management. He joined Nollywood in 2005.
8. Adjetey Anang
Adjetey Anang is a Ghanaian actor and film producer. He was born on 8th July 1973 in Accra, Ghana. He has featured in several movies, which include Deadly Voyage, A Sting in a Tale, The Perfect Picture, and many more. He joined Nollywood in 2008.
9. Fiifi Coleman
Fiifi Coleman is a Ghanaian actor, model, director, producer and a television personality. He was born on 9th March 1977 in Accra, Ghana. He has starred in movies like Pieces of Me, The Most Beautiful Hour and 95. He joined Nollywood in 2011.
10. Ekow Smith Asante
Ekow Smith Asante is a Ghanaian actor, television personality, film producer, film director, production designer and a consultant. He was born on 15th April 1973 in Takoradi, Ghana. He attended University of Ghana and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. He joined Nollywood in 2005.
11. Eddie Watson
Eddie Watson is a Ghanaian actor, producer, model and a television personality. He was born on 22nd May 1980 in Monrovia, Liberia to a Ghanaian mother and a Liberian father. He received his first Ghanaian Movie Award in 2014 for his film Ebola which he wrote, directed and produced. He joined Nollywood in 2012.
12. James Gardiner
James Gardiner is a Ghanaian actor, model, voice-over artiste, Radio, and TV presenter. He was born on 16th May 1985 in Accra, Ghana. He is the only child from his mother, but has four other siblings from his father’s side. He is a graduate from the University of Cape Coast In Ghana. He joined Nollywood in 2011.
13. Enock Darko
Enock Darko popularly known as Watabombshell is a fast rising Ghanaian actor and comedian. He was born on 31st December 1991 in Accra, Ghana to a Nigerian mother and a Ghanaian father. He began doing comedy at a very tender age while appearing in numerous events in Ghana. He joined Nollywood in 2015.
14. Narsh Smith
Narsh Smith is a Ghanaian actor, model and a television personality. He was born in Accra, Ghana before relocating to California in the United States of America at a very tender age. Aside from acting, Narsh Smith is also a model and has appeared in several commercial and fashion magazine. He joined Nollywood in 2011.
15. Eddie Nartey
Eddie Nartey is a Ghanaian actor, director, and film producer. His supporting role in Frank Rajah’s Somewhere In Africa earned him a nomination at the Nollywood and African Film Critics’ Awards and Ghana movie awards. He was born on 6th November 1984 in Accra, Ghana. He attended the University of Ghana, where he studied directing and earned a BFA in Fine Arts.
