Alexander Chuka Iwobi popularly known as Alex Iwobi is a famous Nigerian professional football player, entrepreneur and a philanthropist, who currently plays as a winger and forward striker for English Premier League club Arsenal and the Nigeria national team Super Eagles. He is currently one of the best players in Nigeria and also one of the most successful footballers in Africa.

He was born on 3rd May 1996 in Lagos State in the south western part of Nigeria. He is currently 22 years old. Alex Iwobi is currently the nephew of former Nigerian intentional and professional footballer Jay-Jay Okocha. He was born in Lagos State, Nigeria before moving to England at the age of 4 years old. He is the best friend to Tyrell Robinson, a former Arsenal teammate.

Alex Iwobi joined Arsenal while still at primary school and was first involved in a first-team match as an unused substitute in a League Cup match against West Bromwich Albion on 25th September 2013. In October 2015, he signed a new long-term contract with Arsenal.

Alex Iwobi made his first-team debut for the club on 27th October 2015, starting in a 3–0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the Round of 16 of the League Cup. Alex Iwob made his Premier League debut four days later in a 3–0 victory against Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium as a die minute substitute for Mesut Ozil. Alex Iwobi made his Championship League debut as an 85th-minute substitute in a 5–1 defeat against Bayern Munich.

Alex Iwobi assisted Arsenal in the 2015-2016 FA Cup 3rd and 4th round home victory against Sunderland and Burnley respectively. After getting his first Champions League start in a 3–1 away defeat to FC Barcelona, Alex Iwobi went on to score two goals in his first two Premier League starts in a victory against Everton and Watford respectively.

In the following season Alex Iwobi changed his squad number from 45 to 17. This change was due to the fact that Alexis Sanchez took up the newly vacated number 7 from the departing Arsenal winger and forward striker, Thomas Rosicky.

Alex Iwobi has featured throughout in Arsenal’s victorious FA Cup campaign of 2016-2017. Due to his achievement to the club, he has earned a winners medal as being part of the squad that beat Chelsea by 2 goals to 1 in the final match of the game. In 2017, Alex Iwobi achieved further success with Arsenal in the 2017 Community Shield, in which Arsenal won Chelsea on penalties.

In January 2018 a video allegedly showing Alex Iwobi at a late-night party the day before a match was released in the internet. In May 2018, after Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger announced he would be leaving the club, Alex Iwobi described him as an inspiration and stated it was sad news but exciting.

In 2011, Alex Iwobi started as a youth international for England, with whom he won the 2011 Victory Shield. After which Alex Iwobi went on to play for Nigeria. On 8th October 2015, Alex Iwobi made his senior debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria, replacing Ahmed Musa in the 57th minute of a 2–0 friendly defeat to DR Congo in Vise, Belgium. In 2016, he was selected by Nigeria for their 35-man provisional squad for the 2016 Summer Olympics. Unfortunately, he was not a part of the 18-man final squad.
