Austin Umahi Rejects President Buhari Appointment

After President Muhammadu Buhari appointed Austin Umahi as the Secretary to Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission, RMAFC, he has rejected the appointment. According to Austin Umahi, he said that the appointment is only good for job seekers or retired civil servants but not for someone of his social status.

However, he publicly called on anyone who is interested in the appointment to contact his elder brother, the Ebonyi State Governor, Dave Umahi, because the position is still vacant. He also thanked everyone for their numerous calls and messages, who congratulated him on the appointment.

He said that at his age and work experience, he knows what he wants in life. In his own words, he said, “please if you are interested in the position do not hesitate to approach our indefatigable Governor to do the needful because as far as I am concerned the position is still vacant. Thanks and God bless.”

However, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore, has accused the President, Muhammadu Buhari of preparing Nigeria for a military takeover. Sowore raised the alarm in a tweet on Thursday, claiming that the actions of the retired major general pointed to it.

He tweeted, “President Muhammadu Buhari #mbuhari is preparing Nigeria for a military coup d’état, everything he is doing points to it! “Let those who have ears, hear this! #BuhariMustGo“

Last week, a former ally of President Muhammadu Buhari, Buba Galadima, has said that with the lingering insecurity in the country, it won’t be surprised if the number one citizen is kidnapped by bandits.

Galadima was reacting to the insecurity bedeviling the country in an interview with BBC Hausa service. He said, “These bandits are disdainful to Buhari administration. At the beginning of the government, everybody was scared of Buhari, they expected him to be brave before, he was now exposed to be toothless.

“Buhari knows nothing, he can’t do anything, that is why you see government officials are siphoning billions from public property and nobody can stop them.” Galadima added that if terrorists can have access to break Kuje prison, Buhari himself is not safe.

He said, “If care is not taken, sooner or later Buhari too can be kidnapped considering the way security issues are ignored. The only option available now is to either continue praying or arm ourselves for protection but if we depend on this government, definitely we will be killed.”
