Ayo Adesanya is a famous Nollywood actress, producer, director and a television personality. She was born on 11^th August 1969 in Ijagun, Ijebu, Ogun State in the south western part of Nigeria. She is currently 48 years old. She acts in both English and Yoruba speaking movies. She is very gifted, skillful, creative and talented in acting and interpretation of movie roles and can fit in any character given to her by movie directors and producers in Nigeria.

Ayo Adesanya completed both her primary and secondary school education at St. Ann School in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State in the south western part of Nigeria and obtained both her First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate.

After completing her primary and secondary school education, Ayo Adesanya proceeded to University of Ibadan in Oyo State, Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication. She started acting in 1986 while still in secondary school and participated in her school drama and stage play.

In 1996, Ayo Adesanya joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) professionally and began her professional acting career after she completed the mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and made her first appearance on a television soap opera titled “Palace” a film produced by Tunji Bamishigbin.

She later joined the Yoruba-language film industry, where she has featured, produced and directed several films. Ayo Adesanya acts in both English and Yoruba speaking movies. She is currently one of the most gifted, most skillful, most creative and most talented actresses in Nigeria. She knows how to interpret her roles very well.

Ayo Adesanya was formerly married to Goriola Hassan, but later she divorced him following a misunderstanding which could not be resolved and both parties went their separate ways. However, she has a son in former marriage.

Ayo Adesanya has acted in more than 100 Nollywood movies and television series which include Palace, Dancer, Otelemuye, Mr. Ibu Dance Skelewu, Oloju Meji, Osuka, Olamide Wo, Iwa Buruku, Monisola Ologe, Omugwo, Keremi, Desperate Poor Man, Tears in My Heart, etc.

She acts motherly and house wife roles in movies alongside with Funke Akindele, Kate Henshaw, Rita Dominic, Desmond Elliot, Ramsey Noah, Olu Jacobs, Joke Silver, Uche Jombo, Pete Edochie, Patience Ozokwor, John Okafor and a host of other top Nollywood celebrities.

Ayo Adesanya in the cause of her acting career has won several awards which include Best Supporting Actress at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Most Prominent Actress in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards and Best Actress in Drama at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

Ayo Adesanya is currently one of the richest and most influential actress in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $500,000.
