A Pro-Biafra organization known as the Biafra Nations League (BNL), headed by Princewill Richards, on Tuesday announced that it is collaborating with Diaspora-based Biafra agitator Simon Ekpa and his Autopilot faction of IPOB. The group reveals that they have formed a strong allegiance with Simon Ekpa with the vision for the realization of the Sovereign State of Biafra.
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is a leading pro-Biafra group in Nigeria, led by Nnamdi Kanu while other groups are under the IPOB. Unfortunately, IPOB was proscribed by the Nigerian federal government headed by President Muhammadu Buhari in 2017 while Nnamdi Kanu was rearrested in June 2021, and has since remain in custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) in Abuja. Few days ago he was denied bail by Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court sitting in Abuja.
According to statements from the Biafra Nations League; “This is to inform Biafrans that the Biafra Nations League (BNL) and Autopilot IPOB led by Mr Simon Ekpa held a brief meeting few days ago.
“This is also to confirm that the Biafra Nations League have received the hand of friendship, hand of collaboration and hand of support extended to us, this is for the best interest of our people, as collective efforts matters a lot in our freedom struggle. May God Bless Biafra. Thank you all for your understanding,” the Biafra Nations League statement concluded.
Simon Ekpa has been accused severally by the Federal Government of Nigeria headed by President Muhammadu Buhari of being responsible for instigating violence in the south eastern part of Nigeria, especially since Nnamdi Kanu’s arrest. Simon Ekpa who claim he is loyal disciple of Nnamdi Kanu is not ready to backdown with his Biafra struggle and has stated that come rain come sun Biafra must be achieved.
