Tiwatope Savage Balogun is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, recording artist, stage performer and an actress. She was born on 5th February 1980 in Ikeja, Lagos, Nigeria & relocated to UK at the age of 11. She is currently 36 years old.She is originally from Isale Eko, Lagos Island, Lagos State, Nigeria. But grew up in United Kingdom & United States.
She is a business administration graduate from the University of Kent & Berkeely Music School, both in United Kingdom. She joined the music industry in 2010 after relocating to USA. She has worked as a back-up singer for Beyonce & George Michael. She is currently signed to Rock Nation, 323 Entertainment & Sony/ATV Music Publishing as a songwriter.
In 2012 she signed a recording contract with Mavin Records headed by billionaire artiste & producer Don Jazzy. In June, 2016 she signed a management and publishing deal with Roc Nation which she later confirmed via Instagram. In 2013 she got married to Tunji Balogun.
On 3rd July 2013 she released her first studio album “Once Upon a Time” with singles like Kele Kele Love, Eminado etc. On 19th December 2015, she released her second studio album “R.E.D” with singles like My Darlin, African Waist, etc. In July 2013, Tiwa Savage signed an endorsement deal with MTN Nigeria reportedly worth ₦30 million.
She also signed endorsement deals with Pepsi, Forte Oil & Maggi worth millions of naira. She has sweet voice. She has established her own record label “imprint and 323 Entertainment” with her manager and husband Tunji Balogun. Her numerous achievements in life include; World’s Best Entertainer of the Year at MTV Africa Music Award.
She has also won World’s Best Female Artist of the year at Headies Awards & Most Gifted Female at Channel O Music Video Awards, Best R&B Artiste of the Year at Nigeria Music Video Awards and Best female Artiste of the Year at the City People Entertainment Awards. She is currently one of the richest & most influential female artiste in Nigeria with a net worth of $4.8 million.
