Francis Agoda popularly known as ‘I Go Dye’ is an award winning Nigerian comedian, MC, actor, investor and a philanthropist. He was born on 4th April 1979 in Abraka, Delta State in the southern part of Nigeria. Lagos. He is currently 38 years old. He is originally from Abraka in Ethiope East Local Government in Delta State, Nigeria. He is popularly known as ‘Area Boy’

He attended Ighogbadu Primary School and College of Commerce in Warri Delta State, Nigeria and obtained his SSCE. After that, he became the zonal project manager of the Junior Engineering Technical Society (JET Club). At an early age he invented a flying helicopter, a hovercraft ship, a radio transmitter and a battery table fan. This achievement earned him a scholarship to study structural engineering at a university in New York, but he decline the offer.

Instead he followed his passion, developing his comedy artistry, at a time when the comedy business was not trending as a career. He continues to pursue comedy as a career until he was invited to join the Press Literary Art Drama Debating Society. He has worked at Bendel Television Station presenting mock news on issues affecting the society along with his friend I Go Save.

He later received a contract to perform in the first comedy club in Nigeria, the Prest Motel in Benin City, Edo State. He was paid one thousand naira per show. He gained popularity on media stations. While performing at University of Benin he met with Baba Kome who introduced him to Opa Williams.

Opa Williams was the organizer of Night of a Thousand Laughs and gave him an opportunity to perform live on stage. He rose to fame after performing at the ‘Night of Thousand Laugh’ a comedy show hosted by Opa Williams. He has organized several international comedy shows, such as “Igodye Standing”. He is currently married with a beautiful son.

He has won many awards such as African Best Comedian and Nigeria Best Comedian at Nigeria Entertainment Awards. In September 2014, he was photographed with the Cross River Governor Liyel Imoke at The Nigeria Ireland Carnival in Dublin.

He is among the United Nations Millennium Development Goals Ambassadors, working to actualize the United Nations’ objectives. I Go Dye is one of the most gifted and most talented comedian in Nigerian. He is currently the best comedian in Nigeria.

He is currently one of the richest and most influential comedian in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $7 million.
