Hanks Anuku is a legendary Nollywood actor, television personality and a philanthropist. He was born on 27th August 1960 in Ibadan, Oyo State in the western part of Nigeria. He is currently 57 years old. He is currently married. He is popularly known for his criminal and villain role in movies. He is referred to as the most rugged Nollywood star.
Hanks Anuku completed his primary school education in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. After completing his primary school education, Hanks Anuku proceeded to Loyola College in Ibadan, Oyo State, Nigeria and obtained his West African Senior Certificate.
After completing his secondary school education, Hanks Anuku proceeded to Auchi Polytechnic in Auchi, Edo State, Nigeria and graduated with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in 1981.
After completing his tertiary education, Hanks Anuku relocated to the United States of America. After many years of staying in the United States of America, Hanks Anuku returned back to Nigeria and joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) in early 2000.
Hanks Anuku always plays the role of a bad guy in movies and has an American accent because of the many years he has spent in America. Hanks Anuku is very talented in acting and knows how to interpret his role very well. Due to his tough look and physical appearance, movie directors choose to give him tough roles and characters in movies.
Hanks Anuku has acted in a few numbers of Hollywood movies in the United States of American before relocating to Nigeria. He was introduced to the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) by Regina Askia and his first movie was “The Skeleton” a movie that gave him an advantage in Nollywood. Hanks Anuku rose to fame after acting in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Senator” a political movie where he played the role of an aspiring Senator.
Hanks Anuku has acted in more than 150 Nollywood movies which include The Skeleton, Senator, Bitter Honey, King of the Jungle, The Captor, My Love, Bitter Honey, Ògìdán, Men on Hard Way, Fools on the Run, Desperate Ambition, My Love, Wanted Alive, Force Alarm, Blood Diamonds, etc.
Hanks Anuku always acts in action movies alongside with Sam Dede, Saint Obi, Gentle Jack, Emma Ehummadu, J.T. Tom West, Jerry Amilo, Alaso Wariboko, Ernest Asuzu and Jim Iyke.
In August 2015, controversial Nollywood actor Hank Anuku was involved in a bike accident in Nungua, Ledzokuku-Krowor area of Accra in Ghana. That year rumors spread all over Nigeria and Ghana that the gangster actor was dead, but during an interview with the media, Hanks Anuku debunks the rumors saying I am not dead, I am still alive.
In 2015, Hanks Anuku was heartbroken after news went viral especially on social media, accusing him for testing positive to HIV/AIDS and deliberately infecting his wife with the deadly virus.
In 2017, Hanks Anuku naturalized as a Ghanaian citizen and relocated to Accra, Ghana with his family after changing his name from Hanks Anuku to Nana Kwame Fifi Kakra Anuku. Hanks Anuku has denounced Nigeria as a citizen and is currently a certified citizen of Ghana.
Hanks Anuku in the cause of his career as a movie actor has won several awards which include Most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Best Actor of the Year at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Best of Nollywood Awards and Best Actor in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards.
Hanks Anuku is currently one of the richest and most influential actor in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $1 million.
