Kenneth Okonkwo is a famous Nollywood actor, director, producer, television personality, entrepreneur, investor, politician and a philanthropist. He was born on 6th November, 1965 in Nsukka, Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. He is currently 52 years old. Kenneth Okonkwo completed his primary and secondary school education in Lagos State in the south western part of Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate.
After completing his secondary school education, Kenneth Okonkwo proceeded to University of Nigeria, Nsukka in Enugu State, Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He later went further to obtain a Masters Degree in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.
In 1991, Kenneth Okonkwo joined the Nigeria movie industry (Nollywood) and started attending movies auditions and appearing in television series and soap opera. In 1992, Kenneth Okonkwo rose to fame after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Living in Bondage” a movie that brought Nollywood to limelight.
Kenneth Okonkwo is one of the pioneers of the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) and contributed immensely to the growth of Nollywood in Nigeria and abroad. Kenneth Okonkwo became very famous after playing the role of Andy in the Nollywood blockbuster movie “Living in Bondage” a movie that gave birth to Nollywood. The movie won him an award for Best Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.
After obtaining his Masters Degree from the University of Lagos, Kenneth Okonkwo went on to study Theology at the Nigerian Bible School and was trained as a bible scholar and Minister of God. In 2000, Kenneth Okonkwo, got married to Ogechi Ezekiel. His marriage with Ogechi Ezekiel lasted for two years and ended up in divorce in 2002 due to a misunderstanding which could not be resolved.
In 2007, Kenneth Okonkwo got married to Ifeoma Okonkwo. The couple had to wait for nine years before welcoming their first child. After being married for nine solid years, Kenneth Okonkwo and his wife Ifeoma Okonkwo had their first child on 7th May 2016.
Kenneth Okonkwo has acted in more than 250 Nollywood movies which include Living in Bondage, Ripple, Dumebi, Silent King, World Apart, Helplessly in Love with My Wife, Royal Secret, Billionaires Club, The Power of Money, Husband Material, etc.
Kenneth Okonkwo has won several awards which include Best Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and Best Actor in a Leading Role at the City People Entertainment Awards.
Kenneth Okonkwo is currently one of the richest and most influential actor in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $5 million.
