Obinna Nwafor popularly known as Saint Obi is a legendary Nollywood actor, producer, director, entrepreneur, investor and a philanthropist. He was born on born 16th November 1965 in Port Harcourt, River State in the south southern part of Nigeria. He is currently 51 years old.
He grew up in Jos, Plateau State in the northern part of Nigeria and completed both his primary, secondary and tertiary education there. Saint Obi is a native of Okpa in Mbaitolo Local Government Area, Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria.
He is the only child in the family of 9 children. He has eight sisters and was the only male child in the family. He had his primary school education in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.
After completing his primary school education, Saint Obi proceeded to Zang Secondary Commercial School in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate. After his secondary education, Saint Obi proceeded to University of Jos in Plateau State, Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts in 1991.
In 1995, Saint Obi joined the Nigeria movie industry (Nollywood) and started attending movie auditions. In 1996, Saint Obi rose to fame after starring in the popular NTA commercial series. He has acted in more than 250 Nollywood movies which include Candle Light, Goodbye Tomorrow, Heart of Gold, Executive Crime, State of Emergency, War Front, The President Must Not Die, etc. He act mostly in action movie and is always hailed by fans as Nollywood living legend.
Saint Obi is currently married to Lydia Saint Nwafor and they are blessed with many beautiful kids. In 2001, Saint Obi produced his first movie titled “Take Me to Mama” where he starred as Jerry, alongside with Ebi Sam.
Saint Obi has won several movie awards which include Best Actor in Nigeria at the African Movie Academy Awards, Best Actor in Africa at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Most Prominent Actor in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards and Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Nollywood Movie Awards.
Saint Obi is currently one of the richest and most influential actor in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $7 million.
