Bovi Biography and Net Worth

Abovi Ugboma popularly known as Bovi is a famous Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor, television host, presenter, producer, director, television personality and a master of ceremony. He was born on 25^th September 1979 in Benin City, Edo State in the south southern part of Nigeria. He is currently 38 years old. He is originally from Delta State in the South southern part of Nigeria.

Bovi attended UNIBEN staff primary school in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. After completing his primary school education, Bovi proceeded to Government College Ughelli, Edokpolor Grammar School and Benin Boys Model Secondary School, Onicha-Olana, all in Delta State, Nigeria and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate.

After completing his secondary school education, Bovi proceeded to Delta State University, Abraka and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. After completing his university education, Bovi began his career in April 2007 as an actor, starring in the “Sitcom” and “Extended Family” a movie which he wrote, produced and directed. The movie was very popular in Nigeria and skyrocket him to fame.

In 2008, Bovi decided to pursue a career in comedy and performed at the Opa Williams comedy shows “Nite of Thousand Laughs” where he displayed his talent and received applause from massive audience. Bovi has performed at several shows both in Nigeria and abroad.

He has worked alongside with other top Nigerian comedians such as I Go Dye, Basketmouth, Okey Bakkassi, I Go Save, AY, Ali Baba, Buchi, Gordons, Julius Agwu and other top comedians in Nigeria. He is very funny, skillful, creative, gifted, and talented. He has been referred many times as Nigerian most hilarious comedian and funniest comedian in Africa.

On the 8^th October 2016, Bovi premiered his first movie “It’s Her Day” a movie that earned him a nomination for Best Comic Actor in Nigeria at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. In July 2014, Bovi was nominated for Best Actor in Comedy at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.

Bovi has organized popular stand-up comedy shows and concerts both in Nigeria and abroad such as “Bovi Man on Fire” alongside with Basketmouth. Bovi also does comedy skit alongside with Basketmouth and Okey Bakkassi, which he uses to promote his comedy shows. In 2017, Bovi got married to his long time girlfriend Kris Asimonye and the marriage is blessed with two beautiful kids namely Elena Ugboma and David Ugboma.

Bovi in the cause of his career has won several awards which include Funniest Comedian of the Year at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, Best Comedian of the Year at the Culture People Awards, Best Comedian of the Year at the Ghana Awards, Best Youth Comedian at the Standup Comedians Award, Best Comic Actor in Nigeria at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards, Best Actor in Comedy at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards and Most Creative Comedian of the Year at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards. Bovi is currently a GLO Ambassador and has a multimillion contract deal with telecom giant MTN.

Bovi is currently one of the richest and most influential comedian in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $2.8 million.
