Cristiano Ronaldo Dos Santos Aveiro popularly known as Cristiano Ronaldo is a famous world football legend, an athlete, an investor and a model. He currently plays for his country Portugal national team and Spanish club Real Madrid. He is often considered as the best player in the world and widely regarded as one of the greatest of all time. He was born on 5^th February 1985 in Funchal, Madeira, Portugal. He is currently 32 years old.

His mother’s name is Maria Dolores Dos Santos Aveiro, she is a professional cook while his father’s name is José Dinis Aveiro, he is a municipal gardener and a part-time kit man. Cristiano Ronaldo is the youngest child in the family.

He has one older brother, named Hugo, and two older sisters, named Elma and Liliana. Cristiano Ronaldo grew up in a Catholic and impoverished home, sharing a room with his brother and sisters. As a child, Cristiano Ronaldo played for amateur team Andorinha from 1992 to 1995, where his father was the kit man, and later spent two years with Nacional.

In 1997, at the age of 12 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo went on a three-day trial with Sporting CP, who who signed him for a fee of £1,500. He subsequently moved from Madeira to Alcochete, near Lisbon, to join other youth players at the club’s football academy.

By the age of 14 years old, Cristiano Ronaldo believed he had the ability to play semi-professionally and agreed with his mother to quit his education in order to focus entirely on football. While popular with other students at school, he had been expelled after throwing a chair at his teacher, who he said had “disrespected” him.

However, one year later, he was diagnosed with a racing heart, a condition that could have forced him to give up playing football. He underwent an operation in which a laser was used to cauterize the affected area of his heart. He was discharged from hospital hours after the procedure. He resumed training only a few days later.

In 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo was signed to Manchester United in England by Sir Alex Ferguson at a transfer worth £12.24 million. He replaced David Beckham in Manchester United and was assigned number 7 on his jersey. Cristiano Ronaldo broke a world record in Manchester United by winning the World Best Player and golden boot. He has helped Manchester United in winning the Premiere League and Champions League making him one of the most accomplished footballers in England. Ronaldo’s father, José Dinis Aveiro, died of an alcoholism-related liver condition at age 52 in September 2005 when Ronaldo was still 20 years old.

In 2009, Cristiano Ronaldo was signed to Real Madrid in Spain at a transfer worth £80 million making him the most expensive player in the world. He replaced Real Madrid captain Raul and was assigned number 7 on his jersey. Cristiano Ronaldo income at Real Madrid was £600,000 weekly making him the highest paid player in the world. His contract with Real Madrid expired in 2015 and was renewed immediately by the club because they are not ready to lose the great asset under their possession.

Cristiano Ronaldo has been ranked twice as the world highest paid football players by Forbes and as well as the world’s most famous athlete. His combined income from salaries, bonuses and non-football earnings was $73 million from 2013–14 and $79 million in 2014–15.

In 2017, Cristiano Ronaldo was charged with fraudulently evading almost €15 million in tax between 2011 and 2014, a claim which he denies. As of September 2017 the court case is ongoing.

In April 2017, a story was published by Der Spiegel based on leaked documents provided by Football Leaks relating to an alleged rape by Cristiano Ronaldo, stating that the alleged assault occurred in 2009 but that a legal agreement and accompanying non-disclosure agreement was entered into, resulting in the alleged charges being dropped. Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent Jorge Mendes denied the claims labeling them as “journalistic fiction” with the player stating it was consensual sex. Der Spiegel published a further story in response to the denial, alleging that text messages sent by Cristiano Ronaldo showed that he was aware of the legal negotiations.

In 2006, Cristiano Ronaldo opened his first fashion boutique under the name “CR7” (his initials and shirt number) on the Island of Madeira, Portugal. Cristiano Ronaldo expanded his business with a second clothes boutique in Lisbon in 2008. Cristiano Ronaldo is well known as a fashion icon and health & fitness specialists.

Cristiano Ronaldo has won Ballon d’Or awards five times and World Best Player three times. He is the first player in history to win four European Golden Shoes. He has won 24 trophies in his career, including five league titles, four UEFA European Championship. Cristiano Ronaldo is a prolific goal scorer. He holds the records for most official goals scored in European leagues and Champions League. He has scored more than 600 goals for both his club and country.

Cristiano Ronaldo is currently one of the richest and most influential footballer in the world with an estimated net worth of $280 million.
