David Adedeji Adeleke popularly known by his stage name as Davido is a famous Nigerian singer, songwriter, recording artiste, stage performer, model and a philanthropist. He was born on 21^st November 1992 in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America to Chief Deji and Vero Adeleke. He is currently 25 years old. His father is a billionaire and Nigerian business magnate while his late mother was a university lecturer.

Davido is originally from Ogun State in the western part of Nigeria. Davido completed his primary school education in Atlanta, Georgia, United States of America. After which he returned to Nigeria with his family and attended the British International College in Lekki, Lagos, Nigeria and obtained his Senior School Certificate.

After completing his secondary school education, Davido proceeded to Oakwood University to study Business Administration but could not complete his studies because of his interest in music. In 2011, Davido was admitted to Babcock University in Ogun State, Nigeria and graduated in 2015 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music.

In 2011, Davido became highly famous in Nigeria after releasing the hit single “Dami Duro” a music that brought him to limelight. The music was well received throughout Nigeria. On 7^th May 2011, Davido produced and released his first debut studio album “Back When” with hit single like “Dami Duro”. The album sold million copies in Nigeria and abroad. The singles from the album where topping at the MTV charts as of 2011.

On 25^th February 2013, Davido released his second debut studio album with hit single like “Gobe” and “One of a Kind”. The singles from the second album where trending and received massive acceptance globally. The singles from the second album were ranked second on Premium Times list of the Top 10 songs of 2013. Davido is also a co-owner of the record label “HKN”.

Davido has produced songs for Naeto C, Skales and Tiwa Savage, In April 2012, Davido signed an endorsement deal with MTN Nigeria worth millions of naira. On 23^rd October 2013, Davido signed a contract endorsement deal with Guinness Nigeria worth millions and performed at the Guinness World of More concert.

In December 2015, Davido and his babymama, Sophia Momodu, were in a fight over the custody of their daughter Imade Adeleke. Davido has received a total of 29 awards from 74 nominations. He has received Bet Awards, Kora Awards and Channel O Awards.
