Eddie Nartey is a famous Ghanaian actor, model, director, film producer and a television personality. He acts mostly in romantic movies alongside with Martha Ankomah, Yvonne Nelson, Jackie Appiah, Nadia Buari, Majid Michel, Prince David Osei, Juliet Ibrahim, John Dumelo and other top Ghanaian celebrities.
His supporting role in Frank Rajah’s movie “Somewhere in Africa” earned him a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the Nollywood and African Film Critics’ Awards (NAFCA) and also Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Ghana Movie Awards.
He was born on 6th November 1984 in Korle Gonno, Accra, Ghana. He is currently 34 years old. He is very handsome, gifted, skillful, creative and talented in acting and interpretation of movies. He knows how to interpret his roles very well and can fit in any character given to him by movie directors and producers in Ghana. He collaborated with Juliet Ibrahim on the Ghanaian blockbuster movie titled “Shattered Romance”.
He started his acting career in 2004. He was nominated in the Best Actor category for his role in the movie “Kiss Me If You Can”. He got his first opportunity to do his directorial debut on the movie titled “Could This Be Love” where he co-wrote the movie with Evelyn, which has cast actors like Majid Michel, Kwadwo Nkansah, Nana Ama Mcbrown, Fred Amugi and Gloria Sarfo.
He collaborated with Juliet Ibrahim on the movie “Shattered Romance”. He also wrote and directed the movie titled “Royal Diadem”. Eddie Nartey attended Korle Gonno Methodist Primary School in Accra, Ghana and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate.
After completing his primary school education, Eddie Nartey proceeded to Holy Trinity Cathedral Secondary School in Accra, Ghana and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate.
After completing his secondary school education, Eddie Nartey proceeded to University of Ghana in Legon, where he studied directing and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Fine Arts.
Eddie Nartey has acted in more than 150 Ghanaian movies which include Wedlock of the Gods, Return of Beyonce, Crime To Christ, In The Eyes of My Husband, Gallery of Comedy, Passion and Soul, Girls Connection, Agony of Christ, Ties That Bind, The King Is Mine, Somewhere In Africa, Tears of Womanhood, Pool Party, The Silent Writer, Last Battle, Intimate Battle, Believe Me, Testing the Waters, Love and Crime, amongst others.
Eddie Nartey has also directed and produced more than 50 Ghanaian movies which include Could This Be Love, Shattered Romance, Royal Diadem, She Prayed, Beautiful Ruins, In April, Samai, Criss Cross, That Night, The Corner TV Series, amongst others.
Eddie Nartey in the cause of his career as an actor has been nominated for few awards. In 2011, he was nominated for Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the Nollywood and African Film Critics’ Awards. In 2011, he was also nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Ghana Movie Awards. Eddie Nartey is currently married to Vida Obenewah Nartey and the marriage is currently blessed with beautiful kids.
