Elenu Biography and Net Worth

Akinlami Babatunde Julius popularly known as Elenu is a famous Nigerian stand-up comedian, master of ceremony, actor and a television host. He has featured in several international comedy shows both home and abroad. He had a dream of becoming a medical doctor but later switched to comedy when he discovered that he had hidden talent in comedy and can always make people laugh during his teenager.

He was born and bred in Lagos State in the south western part of Nigeria, where he completed both his primary and secondary school education and obtained both his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate. After completing his primary and secondary school education, Elenu proceeded to Lagos State University and obtained a National Diploma (OND) in Computer Science.

On 15 June 2013, Elenu got married to an Igbo girl Chinwe Anyanwu at Global Impact Church Surulere, Lagos State in the south western part of Nigeria and the marriage is currently blessed with a son named Jayden.

On 10^th November 2006, Elenu rose to prominence after contesting and winning the AY Open Mic Comedy Challenge. After his victory in the competition, Elenu has performed in several events, AY shows, night of thousand laugh, concerts, wedding ceremony, birthday and comedy shows both home and abroad and has attracted for himself a unique fans.

Elenu is very talented when it comes to comedy. He is one of the highest paid comedians in Nigeria. He has feature in several funny comedy skits and has made cameo appearances in several musical videos. He uses hilarious scenario and concept to make his comedy more appealing to his audience.

In 2011, Elenu was regarded as the official comedian for his Excellency Governor Godswill Akpabio, the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State. Mid way into his performance at the Godswill Akpabio Scrabble Classic and Gala Nite, the governor stood up with happiness and called him a comedian after his heart.

During an interview with the media, Elenu stated that AY and Basketmouth was his role model. He therefore commends AY for his contribution to the development of comedy industry in Nigeria. He applauded him for his contribution in harnessing and exposing new talents in the industry and given them opportunity to better their lives.

During an interview with the media, Elenu also confessed that he came from a very poor family background and had experienced real poverty in life. According to him, he had to do menial jobs to support his mother who single handedly raised him. He however stated that he worked in the Nigerian Bottling Company as a casual staff just to assist his mother to put food on the table. He also stated that his mother had been very supportive in his career.

Elenu in the cause of his career has won several awards which include Best New Comedian at the Diamond Awards, Best Comedian in Nigerian at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards and Most Promising Comic Act to Watch at the City People Entertainment Awards and

Elenu is currently one of the richest and most influential comedian in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $450,000.
