Emma Chukwugoziam Obi popularly known by her stage name as Emma Nyra is a famous Nigerian singer, songwriter, recording artiste, stage performer, actress and a model. She was born on 18th July 1988 in Tyler, Texas in the United States of America. She is currently 30 years old. She is very beautiful, gifted, skillful, creative and talented.
Emma Nyra was born and raised in Tyler, Texas in the United States of America, where she had her early education. She is of Igbo descent from Delta State in the south southern part of Nigeria. In 2012, she left America for Nigeria to pursue a career in music and modeling.
After completing her primary and secondary school education, Emma Nyra proceeded to Texas Southern University in Tyler, Texas in the United States of America and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Care Administration.
In 2011, Emma Nyra released her debut singles titled “Do It” and “Everything I Do” while still in the United States of America. Upon her return to Nigeria in 2012, she started working with D’Tunes and Iyanya, whom she met in 2010 while still in the United States of America.
In March 2012, Emma Nyra signed a recording contract with Made Men Music Group headed by Ubi Franklin. Before making her debut in the Nigerian music industry, Emma Nyra has made a vocal appearance in Iyanya hit single “Ur Waist”.
In 2013, Emma Nyra was voted as the Most Promising Act to Watch at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Between 2013 and 2014, Emma Nyra went on to release several hit singles which saw her touring the United States and Canada respectively. She has since worked with the likes of Davido, Patoranking, Iyanya, Wizkid, Sele Bobo, Olu Maintain, among others.
In 2015, Emma Nyra was listed on notjustok.com lists of 15 Artists to Watch in 2015. Her first debut studio album titled “Emma Nyra Hot Like Fiya Vol. 1” is yet to be released.
Apart from music, Emma Nyra is also an actress. She has appeared in three movies which include American Driver, Rebound and The Re-Union. In 2014, Emma Nyra ended her recording contract with Made Men Music Group.
According to Emma Nyra, she was abuse with physical and verbal force from her then manager Ubi Franklin as the reason why she left the label imprint “Made Men Music Group”. The allegations were however denied by Ubi Franklin.
Emma Nyra in the cause of her career as a musician has won few awards. In 2013, she won the Most Promising Act to Watch at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards.
Emma Nyra is currently one of the richest and most influential female artiste in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $500,000.
