Fulani Herdsmen Attacked 7 Igbo Villages

Fulani Herdsmen have attacked 7 Igbo villages in the South Eastern part of Nigeria. According to reports, the attack was carried out by suspected herders in the boundary area of Ebonyi state and Benue state last Sunday which affected seven Igbo villages of Obakota, Ndigwe, Ataloga, Odokem, Ekile, Nduobasi and Ekpufu.

It was said that the attack led to the death of over 30 indigenes of Ebonyi State while some survivors are still receiving treatment at the Alex Ekweme Federal University Teaching Hospital.

In a statement released by the Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, James Oche stated that herdsmen in their numbers, on Sunday morning, attacked several Igbo speaking communities of Ado. He added that the military later came to salvage the situation.
