Fulani Herdsmen Kidnap Imo Catholic Priest

Suspected Fulani herdsmen kidnapped Imo Catholic Priest when his car broke down. Sahara Reporters gathered that the cleric was kidnapped when his car developed a fault at Ihube in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State in the south eastern part of Nigeria.

However, the Imo State Police command has linked the kidnap of a Catholic priest, named Izu Marcel Onyeocha to a group of suspected Fulani herdsmen.

In a statement, the command’s spokesman, Orlando Ikeokwu, said one Bissong Isa Atugu, who was in the car with the cleric when he was kidnapped, narrated that a group of people believed to be Fulani herdsmen emerged from the bush and inflicted machetes cuts on him while the priest was kidnapped and taken to an unknown destination.

The Police spokesman, Orlando Ikeokwu said the cleric was kidnapped when his car developed a fault at Ihube in Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State.

The victim, who is a catholic priest in the state is also a lecturer in the Faculty of Humanities at the Imo State University owerri. He is a native of the Avuru Community in Ikeduru council area of the state. We pray and hope he is rescued unharmed.
