A female rice farmer, identified as Amaka Okafor, was allegedly attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen in a village known as Ayede Ogbese in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. According to our reliable source, the incident was said to have happened on Wednesday when Fulani herdsmen met the woman on her farm and wanted to graze on the farm but the woman tried to stop them from destroying her rice plantation.
In the process of resisting them from grazing on her farm, the Fulani herdsmen allegedly inflicted machete cut injuries on the woman, leaving her unconscious on the farm and ran away.
The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tee-Leo Ikoro, who confirmed the incident, said the command had commenced investigation into the matter. According to Mr. Ikoro words; “the good news is that the victim could identify the assailants and we have begun investigation into it. The woman is recuperating at the hospital.”
