Hilda Baci Biography And How She Broke The Guinness World Record

Hilda Effiong Bassey popularly known as Hilda Baci is a Nigerian professional chef, actress, content creator, host, TV producer, and the current holder of Guinness World Record for cooking marathon. In August 2021, she won the Jollof Faceoff’ competition. Hilda Baci hails from Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State in the south southern part of Nigeria. She was born on 20th September, 1996 in Akwa Ibom state.

She is currently 26 years old. She graduated with a degree in sociology from Madonna University Okija in Anambra State. She was the host for “Dine on A Budget” on Pop Central TV in DSTV Channel 189. Her mother’s name is Mrs. Lynda Ndukwe. She is the Guinness World Record holder for World’s Longest Cooking Marathon.

From a very tender age, Hilda‘s heart danced to the rhythm of culinary delights. Driven by an insatiable hunger to learn, she embarked on a culinary education journey, drawing inspiration from her mother, a culinary maestro in her own right. Her culinary prowess blossomed through her guidance and the nurturing warmth of the kitchen, adorning her with a unique flair that set her apart. In March 2023, Hilda Baci announced she would be attempting the record for the longest cooking marathon. The record was previously held by Lata Tondon whose cooking marathon lasted for 87 hours, 45 minutes in 2019. On 11th May, 2023, she started her record attempt titled “Cook-a-thon”. She broke the record on 15th May, 2023.

On Monday May 15, 2023 at exactly 7:45 am, Hilda Baci broke the record for longest cooking marathon by any individual hitting 87 hours 50 minutes – 5 minutes above the previous record holder in 2019. To set a new record of the longest cooking marathon, Hilda Baci was originally set to cook for 96hrs, but later extended her goal to a 100 hours cooking marathon.

High profile Nigerians who visited Hilda Baci include, Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Lead Pastor of Harvester International, Bolaji Idowu, Nigerian award-winning singer, Tiwa Savage, Tim Godfrey, Ice Prince, amongst others. The Vice President of Nigeria, Professor Yemi Osinbajo also called to cheer Hilda up during the cooking marathon. Hilda Baci received huge support fan base from Nigerians who trooped to the venue of the cooking marathon while others keep trending her name on Social Media.  She is not married, but very much single.
