How To Build An Effective Skincare Routine For All Skin Types

Building an effective skincare is really important for every skin type whether it’s oily, dry, normal or combination skin. No matter the skin you have, you still need a basic skincare; it doesn’t matter if you are young or old. To achieve that attractive facial or body, don’t underestimate the power of good skin care routine.

1. Cleanse

Cleansing your skin is a very important step in every skincare routine to achieve that skin you have always desired.  There are so many cleansers in the market and you can go for a good cleanser that matches your skin. Cleansing helps to remove dirt, excess oils, dead skin cells, sweat and other pollutants. These should be done twice per day – morning and evening. Cleansing your skin in the morning will help to remove oil and sweat left from your pillow, making your face look brighter and prepared for any make-up application or getting your face ready for the day   while Cleansing your skin in the evening should never be skipped, it helps to remove make-up applied in the morning, pollutants, dirt’s and dead skin cells.

2. Exfoliation

Exfoliating is meant for everyone, it doesn’t matter if you have dry, oily, combination or normal skin. Exfoliation helps to remove all the dead skin cells from the surface of your skin, unclogs pores, evens out your skin tone,  boosts circulation and bring life to your skin,  help your skin care product to penetrate your skin.  When excess dead skin cells are accumulated in your skin, it can cause your pores to be blocked which can lead to blackheads, pimples, breakouts, congestions etc. While exfoliation is essential as a part of healthy skin care routine, over-exfoliation can harm your skin by causing microscopic tear. You should exfoliate your skin once or twice a week.

3. Tone

Toners help to balance the PH level of the skin. Sometimes  cleansers  block  the skin balance making your skin become more acidic , toners bring back the PH balance, toners remove any make up residue and last traces of dirt’s stuck in your pores after you wash your face, they prepare your skin for moisturizing and detoxify the skin making your skin to be less prone to oiliness and infection. Good toners contains soothing, calming and hydrating properties that help retain moisture to your skin, refreshes and tightens the skin. Toners can be used once or twice- morning and night depending on your skin type.

4. Moisturize

Moisturizer is a good step in skincare, you shouldn’t overlook these step. So many of us have wrong impression that moisturizers are not meant for people with oily skin but moisturizers are meant for everyone no matter the skin type. Washing your face without the appropriate use of a moisturizer will trigger an over-production of oil on your skin which can lead to certain breakouts, making your skin to become dry without rehydration, causing   irritation and other skin issues. When moisturizing, never forget your eyes, choose different moisturizer depending on the kind of eye concern you might have.  However, those with oily skin should seek for noncomedogenic moisturizers that won’t clog your pores or cause further breakouts.

5. Protection

Sun protection is the most important, without it, you are exposing the sensitive skin on your face to unnecessary damage from sun exposure. Opt for a sunscreen that is SPF 30 or higher but do not go for more than SPF 50 because it can clog your pores if you don’t cleanse it off properly. Sunscreen helps to protect the skin against skin cancers, sunburn, prevent wrinkles and hyper pigmentation, inflammation and redness.  Without these, all your skin care routine is of no use, because what you have done to help protect your skin will be a waste if you don’t protect your skin with sun block. The essential proteins in the skin are protected by applying sunscreen therefore, it is important to maintaining healthy skin.
