So not to waste much of your time, I am going to outline the various steps you need to take in order to be able to get over a breakup, heal a wounded and broken heart and live a happy, healthy and self fulfilled life. The steps you are expected to take in order to get over a breakup are as follows;
Keep a distance from your ex
It is natural to get hurt whenever you see someone that has broken your heart, and the best thing to do in this situation is to keep your distance from your ex. Keeping your distance from them will help your heart to heal fast. Even if you and your ex have decided to stay in the friend’s zone, it is advisable to break away completely from each other right after the breakup and stay far and distance away from each other until what both of you truly feel for each other has subsidized and fadeout.
However, distancing yourself from your ex does not mean both of you will not see each other again, be around with your ex family members again, answer phone calls again, send e-mails again, send text messages again, or chat on Facebook, Twitter, WhatsApp or Instagram again. You can only do that when you have fully and completely forgotten the feelings you have for him or her. You don’t have to quit talking to each other forever, but you do need to cut all communication for as long as it takes to completely get over with your ex.
Stay away from things or places that reminds you of your ex
There are all kinds of things that remind you of your ex. It could be a particular song, a smell, a gift, a sound or a place. Having these items around you can make it harder for you to recover from a broken heart. The best thing to do in this situation is to remove all of the things that make your heart ache or your stomach turn when you remember your ex. This method work wonders and can help to clear your mind from memories about your ex.
If you have a gift such as a wrist watch, clothes, shoes or piece of jewelry that was given to you by your ex, there is nothing wrong with keeping it. But for the time being and for fast healing of your broken heart, you should try putting the gifts and item away until you have gotten over from the relationship and heartbreak.
Hang out with your friends and catch fun
After a relationship ends, it is okay to have some time to yourself at home, but to heal completely from a broken heart, it is advisable to move out and hang out with your friends. You can go to tourist location, beach, night of thousand laughs shows and anywhere that will make you feel enthusiastic. Doing this will help to heal your wounded heart and free your mind from hate and revenge.

Beware of rebound relationships
Avoid entering into a new relationship immediately after a breakup. Often in life people quickly rush and enter into a new relationship immediately after a breakup. This type of relationship is called a rebound relationship. Entering into a new relationship immediately after a breakup is not always a good idea. When you enter into a relationship immediately after breaking up with someone, you may be masking your negative emotions with the excitement of a new relationship. If that new relationship does not work out, you may have to deal with the pain of two breakups at once. The best thing you can do when you breakup from a relationship is to consider remaining single until you have fully processed your emotions and gotten over the breakup.
Continue to take care of yourself
It is advisable to continue taking care of yourself. Eat balance diet and take regular exercise. This daily activity will help you to balance your mind and stop thinking of your ex. Make sure that you are seeing to your basic needs for mental, physical, and spiritual well-being. If you were not taking good care of yourself before you ended up your relationship with your ex, I believe it is now time to start taking care of yourself. Make sure that you are eating well, sleeping enough, making time for relaxation, and getting regular exercise to look healthy and happy always.
You are advised to eat a balanced diet that includes plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein. Please try as much as possible to avoid junk food, excess sugar, and excess fat. You are also advised to get enough sleep. You are expected to sleep between 7-8 hours per night. Sleep every night so that your brain can rest. You are also advised to take a 30 minutes exercise for at list five times every week. You can go for a 30 minute walk (endurance trek), jog for like 30 minutes, ride on your bike and move around town or you can hit the swimming pool and go swimming. These activities will help you to relax your mind and get rid of negative feelings. You are advised to relax for at least 15 minutes per day. Try meditation, deep breathing exercises, or yoga to help you relax and feel better.
Surround yourself with supportive people
You need to be around with people that motivate, inspire and encourage you to always feel better. You are advised to stay around with people who love you and who will help you feel good about yourself. Surrounding yourself with compassionate, supportive friends and family members will help you see yourself as a worthy person.
Surrounding yourself with people that support and encourage you emotionally, spiritually and mentally will help you to get over a breakup.
