How to Get Rid of Toothache

In this article I will be sharing with you various ways on how to get rid of toothache and become free from tormenting. Toothache can be troubling and irritating. Toothache can be caused by sinus infection, cavity or broken teeth. These are the ways you can get rid of toothache at home in no time and be free from pain.

1. Wheatgrass

Wheatgrass has many healing properties and help with pain relief. It   strengthens immune system and heal your body from the inside if taken internally. It can relieve inflammation in your mouth and prevent tooth infections while absorbing toxins from your gum. It fights bacteria, boost dental health and promote faster healing due to its chlorophyll content. Use wheatgrass juice as a mouthwash.

2. Clove oil

Clove oil is a natural anesthetic, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antifungal and a painkiller. It contains eugenol which is a natural antiseptic that fights oral bacteria and numb nerve tissue. Clove oil helps to reduce swelling, irritation, pain and inflammation in the affected area of your mouth. It has been used to treat toothaches throughout history. To use clove oil for toothache, drop a small amount of clove oil onto a cotton ball and apply it to the affected area.

3. Garlic

Garlic is a great source of antibiotics. It releases allicin that kills harmful bacteria caused by infection and relieve pain that cause dental plaque. The allicin in garlic which is the main compound for oral health can be gotten if only the garlic is sliced, chewed or crushed.  Garlic is a healthy diet and has so many other health benefits. Therefore, to get rid of toothache, chew fresh garlic to get all its medicinal properties for faster result.

4. Ice compress

This is the easiest method to get rid of toothache. Ice is very effective in helping with inflammation and swelling, it causes the blood vessels in the area to constrict and makes pain less severe, slowing or stopping bleeding. It numbs out the affected area while making you feel comfortable. Place an ice pack wrapped with piece of cloth to the side of your face for 20 minutes. Repeat this every few hours.

5. Peppermint tea bags

Peppermint tea bags can be used to numb pain and soothe sensitive gums. It has cooling effect and antibacterial properties that helps to kill germs, oral infection and inflammation. Its menthol is additional benefits to mouth to give you that fresh breathe and smell. To do this, you can choose peppermint tea bags, peppermint leaf or peppermint oil, either of these works perfectly. To use peppermint tea bags, apply a slightly warm tea bag to the affected area and leave for some minutes. To use peppermint leaf, chew the leaves and then apply to the affected area. To use peppermint oil, add few drops in a cotton ball and dab to the affected area.

6. Salt water rinse

Salt water rinse is an effective treatment for tooth decay. Salt water is a natural disinfectant, has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory agent. These solution helps to loosen food particles that are stuck in between your teeth, help protect damaged teeth from infection; reduce swelling, inflammation and any oral wounds while promoting healthy gums. Mix 1/2 teaspoon of salt into 1/2 glass of warm water and use it as a mouthwash.

7. Thyme

Thyme has antibacterial and antioxidant properties that can help to treat toothaches. It eliminates harmful toxins from the mouth and gets rid of toothache by providing effects to pain and irritation. Thyme can be used as herbal medications in treating minor ailments, diseases and bleeding gums. Dilute few drops of thyme essential oil and few drops of water and apply on the affected area.

8. Turmeric

Turmeric has powerful antimicrobial properties that help with dental health and healing process. It helps to remove dirt, bacteria and inflammation. The curcumin in turmeric reduce or prevent gum disease, stop pain and prevent abscesses. It is a medicinal herb and can be used in different ways to get its benefits.
