It is also important to make sure that your blog or website is complying with the Adsense policies before applying otherwise you will be rejected immediately. You need valuable content and good traffic on your blog or website before Google will approve your adsense account. Also, be very sure to read the terms and conditions mentioned on the signup page to learn more about the program policy.
So not to waste much of your time, we are going to move to the step by step guide on how to open an adsense account. The steps to take on how to open an adsense account is as follows;
Signup for Adsense Account
*The first step on how to open an adsense account is to go to the Signup Page for Adsense and sign up using your Google account. You will see an option to create a new Google account, or you can choose to use your existing Google account. If you have a custom domain email address like email@example.com, I will suggest you use it to sign up for your Adsense account.
When you use custom domain email address like firstname.lastname@example.org to sign up for an adsense account, you will have a higher chance and an added advantage of getting your Adsense application approve immediately. Otherwise, you can use your existing Gmail address to open an adsense account and if you don’t have a Gmail address, you can create new Gmail address and use it to open an adsense account.
Include your Website Details
The second step on how to open an adsense account is to include your website details. In this step, you simply need to enter your website address and select the content language. For the website URL use your blog address, and make sure to add it without “http://”. Example of website URL to add is *www.austinemedia.com or austinemedia.com if your blog doesn’t have the “www” in the domain name.
Include your Adsense Contact Information
*The third step on how to open an adsense account is to include your adsense contact information. This is the most important part and you must be very careful while filling this section. Avoid making mistake in this section and fill your contact information very well.
The “payee name” is very important, so make sure to use the same name as stipulated in your local bank account, as Adsense will be sending you checks or wire transfer payment under that name and the name will correspond with the name on your bank account in your country.
Remember that if you make a mistake in this section, changing the payee name of your account will be difficult in some countries, here is the list of countries which are not allowed to change the payee name after signing up. So if your country is among those countries listed by Google then you won’t be able to change your payee name. So ensure your bank account name and payee name are exactly the same. This is very important. After including your payee name, the next thing to do is to add your contact information such your home address, phone number and fill in the other details as shown to you in the application.
Accept Adsense Policies
*The fourth step on how to open an adsense account is to accept adsense policies. Read the Adsense policies very thoroughly and put a checkmark in all the three boxes. Once you are done with that, then click on “Submit” and on the next page you can review your details. Please review your application to make sure that all your details are accurate and up to date.
After which you are to click the final submission and wait for your application to be reviewed by Google. Remember, if your blog or website is in compliance with Google adsense policies, then your adsense account will be approved within 72 hours.
But if your blog or website does not comply with Google adsense policies, your adsense account will be rejected. Remember you can sign up again if your adsense account is rejected and never give up. In my case, when I tried to sign up for Google adsense account I was rejected six times, but I never gave up, I continue applying until the seventh times that my adsense account was approved by Google.
Once you have signed up for an Adsense account, then you will need to add your adsense codes to your blog or website. Simply copy the adsense code from your adsense account and place it on the <head> of your blog or website html. The Google Adsense team will then review your application again after your adsense code has been added to your blog or website and your adsense account will be activated immediately once it is approved by Google and you will receive an Adsense Pin that will be sent to you immediately you earn up to $10 to verify your address.
Once you reach the threshold of $10 your adsense PIN will be sent to you by postal mail to verify your address. And once you have verified your address, you will be given an option in your adsense account to include your bank details for payment and once your earnings reaches $100 you will be paid for your adsense earnings.
It takes approximately 1-2 months to get the adsense PIN depending upon your geographical location. Once everything is set up, in order to get paid from Adsense you will need to complete two further steps
*Submit your tax information
*Enter your pin
You will need to submit a tax form which is specific to how you are conducting business. This is for certification of business activities in the United States. This means you will declare whether if you are a U.S citizen or residential in the United State and if you are not you can simply click “No”.
After you have reached the $10 minimum threshold in your adsense account, you will receive an Adsense Pin by postal mailing. You need to add the pin to your Adsense account. This will enable you to start receiving payment once your Adsense account reaches the $100 payment threshold.
