Malaria can be quite frustrating due to the symptoms associated with it such as headache, weakness, lower immune system, etc. Malaria is caused by Plasmodium parasite which can be spread by to humans through infected mosquitoes. There are some home remedies to use in treatment of malaria which are as follows.
1. Lime
Limes are rich in vitamin A, B, C, calcium, magnesium and potassium. Limes contain high antioxidant that helps to fight infections, chronic diseases, inflammation, boost metabolism and speed up healing process. The antioxidants in lime help to strengthen immune system. Squeeze one or two limes into a glass of water and drink.
2. Cinnamon
Cinnamon has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties due to its cinnamaldehyde and catechins that helps to get rid of malaria, pains, fever, diarrhea, headache etc. It is one of the oldest and simplest remedy in treating malaria.
3. Holy Basil
Holy basil has an active compound known as eugenol which works wonders in treating malaria and eliminates infection. Crush the leaves of holy basil and filter, drink its juice daily. Also, you can crush its bark and allow it to steep in hot water before drinking.
4. Grapefruit
Grapefruit is one of the most effective remedy for malaria. It contains natural quinine which helps to neutralize the harmful effects of malaria parasite, boost immune system, fights off diseases and parasites and speed up recovering process.
5. Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar has so many benefits which can help to improve your health. It can help to treat fever caused by malaria, fights infections, strengthens immune system, improve insulin sensitivity and reduce high body temperature. Add a spoonful of apple cider vinegar in a glass of water and drink.
6. Lemon
Lemons are high in citric acid and are a rich source of potassium and magnesium. Lemons are used for treatment of infectious diseases including malaria, also it can be used to fight scurvy, typhoid fever, food poisoning, etc. Squeeze half an organic lemon in a glass of warm water and sip throughout the day.
7. Ginger
Ginger is an effective antimalaria medicine that helps to speed up recovery from malaria. Ginger has an active compound known as gingerol which contains anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that treats infections and ailments. It also helps to boost immune system.
8. Herbal Tea
Herbal tea has positive impact in treating malaria, it involves the infusion of herbs, fruits and spices in hot water. You can make herbal teas such as green tea, papaya leaf juice, lemongrass, bitter leaf water, mango leaf juice etc. Herbal tea is often loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that serve many purposes.
9. Neem
Neem is very effective in the treatment of malaria, it lowers fever, increases appetite, stimulates the immune system and speed up recovery. Neem has many medicinal advantages and can also be used in treating fungal and viral diseases, diabetics and its antiseptic ingredients which provide oral hygiene.
