How To Whiten Skin Naturally

Many people dream of fair and flawless skin that is why there are so many promised chemical-based lightening products in the market which some of them can damage your skin. Dark and dull skin can be caused by certain factors such as poor lifestyle, stress, pollution, overexposure to sun and use of many chemical products that can damage the skin.

Here are some natural tips to try at home to achieve that whitening skin you have ever wished for.

1. Lemon and Turmeric

Lemon is rich in antioxidant and is great source of vitamin C which stimulates the production of new skin cell. Its acidic property helps to lighten your skin while turmeric contains antiseptic properties that keeps your skin healthy, reduces dark spots and patches, lightens skin and balance skin tone by building up melanin content.  Make a mixture of lemon, turmeric and honey and apply to your skin. Leave this mixture for 30 minutes before washing it off with water. You can apply this mixture 3 times in a week to see results.

2. Milk

Milk rejuvenates and nourishes your skin. It has alpha hydroxyl acid [AHA] which is found in lactic acid, it reduces tan and unwanted pigmentation. The lactic acid in milk contains vitamin A, D, E and K which works to hydrate the skin, removes the topmost layer of damaged skin, lightens and corrects uneven skin tone. To use this, mix 5 tablespoons of milk and honey, apply these mask on your skin and leave for 15-20 minutes  before you rinse it off.

3. Blueberries

Blueberries are high in anthocyanins which has strong antioxidant that fights against premature aging, the vitamins C and K  in blueberries boost collagen production and speed up wound healing, boosts immunity to fight against different infections and germs, gets rid of acne, pimples, eczema , skin discolorations and lighten up skin tone. Consume moderate quantity everyday to whiten up your skin in short time.

4. Tomatoes

Tomatoes contain protective agents that are good for the skin. When used as skincare product, it acts as natural skin lightener, clear dark spots and helps to wake up dull skin; it tightens the skin and shrinks pores. They contain lycopene. Cut half of tomatoes and rub over your skin, leave for 15 minutes, letting the juice sink into your pores. Then rinse it off. Repeat this 3-4 times a week to see result.

5. Orange Peels and yoghurt

Yoghurt has many essential nutrients that benefit the skin. The lactic acid in yoghurt gets rid of blemishes due to its lightening and moisturizing properties thereby, giving you a fresh and youthful skin. Oranges are rich in vitamin C which can lighten skin, keep your skin supple and improve the texture of your skin. Make a paste by mixing one teaspoon of dried orange peels powder and one teaspoon of plain yoghurt. Apply to your skin, leave it for 20 minutes and wash the paste.  Do these twice a week for best results.

6. Exfoliate

Exfoliation is the key to achieve a beautiful skin. It is very crucial in every skincare, you need to exfoliate your skin twice a week to get rid of dead skin cells, tan and improve your complexion. Exfoliation makes it easy to absorb any product you apply on your skin for faster result. If you don’t exfoliate, dead skin cells accumulate on your skin which makes it difficult for your products to absorb or work on your skin. Mix two teaspoons of sugar and coconut oil, use these scrub twice a week and you will notice the difference on your skin.

7. Wear Sunscreen

Sunscreen is the most important part of your skin lightening routine. You need to protect your skin from harmful UV rays of the sun to prevent skin cancer, premature aging and sunburnsss. Avoid prolonged sun exposure and wear protective clothing when outdoors. Apply sunscreen of SPF15 or more.

8. Drink Enough Water

Water is very crucial to your body. Water helps to flush out toxins that accumulate in your body; these toxins make your skin look dull, dry and lifeless. You need to drink adequate amount of water to improve the appearance of your skin and keep you hydrated. Drink at least two liters of water in a day for that bright and radiant skin.

9. Sleep

A good night rest benefits our overall health and well being. Your body needs rest to bring out its inner glow. Lack of sleep can change your skin texture and bring out dark circles under our eyes.
