Hype MC Biography and Net Worth

Udensi Matthew Ukeje popularly known by his stage name as Hype MC is a fast rising Nigerian indigenous rapper, singer, songwriter, recording artiste, stage performer and a model. He was born on 23rd August 1985 in Achara Layout, Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. He is currently 32 years old.

He is the last child in a family of eight children. He is very handsome, creative, gifted and talented. He is popularly known for rapping in Igbo indigenous language with lyrical rhythms.

Hype MC is originally from Ebem Ohafia, a small town in Bende Local Government Area of Abia State in the south eastern part of Nigeria but grew up in Achara Layout, Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria.

Hype MC attended Robinson Primary School in Uwani, Enugu State, Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. After completing his primary school education, Hype MC proceeded to Union Boys Secondary School in Achara Layout, Enugu State, Nigeria and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate.

After completing his primary and secondary school education, Hype MC proceeded to Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu and graduated with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Mass Communication.

His musical career started while still at the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu, where he performed in campus shows, events, ceremonies and picnics. He went with the name stage name Hype MC. He has done music with many Nigerian superstars like Mr. Raw, Flavour, Dekumzy, late MC Lophz, Ransome, Zoro, Phyno, amongst others. 

He became highly famous after releasing his hit single “Oge Hype Erugo” featuring Ransome. Hype MC is under Raw Deal Record, a record label owned by Nigga Raw. It may also interest you to know that Hype MC is the younger brother to Nigerian famous indigenous rapper Nigga Raw.

Hype MC has being nominated for Best Indigenous Rapper, Next Rated and Best Hip Hop Act at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards. Hype MC has often been regarded as one of the best Igbo rapper, a genre that now appeals to a broad, global and mainstream audience.

He has been described by many publications as the best indigenous rapper in Nigeria. Hype MC came out with his own style, a unique creativity and surprised his fans, now everybody love his music and want to be associated with him. His hit single “Oge Hype Erugo” featuring Ransome has topped many charts in Nigeria.

Despite his fame as a solo artist, Hype MC has collaborated with numerous top musical artists such as Flavour, Duncan Mighty, Phyno, Illbliss, 2Face Idibia, Nigga Raw, Slow Dogg, Slim Brown, Wizboy, Zoro, amongst other
