Jennifer Lynn Lopez popularly known as Jennifer Lopez is a famous American singer, actress, dancer, producer, model, songwriter, recording artiste and a philanthropist. She was born on 24th July 1969 in Castle Hill, New York City, New York in the United States of America. She is currently 49 years old.
She is very beautiful, gifted, skillful and talented. Jennifer Lopez was born in The Bronx borough of New York City in the United States of America to Puerto Rican parents namely Guadalupe Rodriguez and David Lopez. She has an older sister named Leslie and a younger sister named Lydia, who is currently a journalist.
Her father David Lopez worked at the Guardian Insurance Company before becoming a computer technician at the firm, while her mother Guadalupe was a homemaker. When Jennifer Lopez was born, the family was living in a small apartment in the Castle Hill neighborhood.
At the age of five years old, Jennifer Lopez began taking singing and dancing lessons. She toured New York City with her school when she was just seven years old. Her parents stressed the importance of work ethic and being able to speak English, they encouraged their three daughters to put on performances at home, singing and dancing in front of each other and their friends so that they would stay out of trouble.
Jennifer Lopez spent her entire academic career in Catholic schools, finishing at Preston High School. For her first leading role in the 1997 movie “Blood and Wine” Jennifer Lopez received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actress in a Leading Role and became the first Latin American actress to earn over $1 million in a film. She went on to star in the movie “Anaconda” in 1997 and “Out of Sight” in 1998, thereby establishing herself as the highest-paid Latin American actress in Hollywood.
In 1999, Jennifer Lopez ventured into the music industry with her first debut studio album “On The 6” which helped propel the Latin pop movement in American music. In 2001, she released her second debut studio album “J.Lo” and her romantic comedy film “The Wedding Planner”. Jennifer Lopez is the first woman to have a number one album and film in the same week. Her 2002 remix album “J to tha L-O! The Remixes” became the first in history to debut at number one on the U.S Billboard 200. Later that year, she released her third debut studio album “This is me”.
After starring in the movie “Gigli” in 2003, which was a critical and commercial failure, Jennifer Lopez subsequently starred in the successful romantic comedy movies “Shall We Dance?” which was produced in 2004 and “Monster-in-Law” which was produced in 2005.
In 2007, Jennifer Lopez released her fifth debut studio album “Como Ama una Kujer” which received the highest first-week sales for a debut Spanish album in the United States. Following an unsuccessful period, she returned to prominence in 2011 with her appearance as a judge on America Idol and released her seventh debut studio album “Love?”.
In 2016, Jennifer Lopez began starring in the crime drama series “Shades of Blue” and commenced a residency show “Jennifer Lopez: All I Have” at Planet Hollywood, Las Vegas in the United States of America. Since 2017, Jennifer Lopez has produced and served as a judge on World of Dance.
