Lydia Forson is a famous Ghanaian actress, model, writer, activist and a movie producer. She was born on 24th October 1984 in Mankessim, Ghana. She is currently 34 years old. She received her early education at Wilmore Elementary School in Kentucky. At the age of 9 years old, her family moved to Ghana, where she continued her education at Akosombo International School in Ghana.
Forson also attended St. Louis Secondary School in Kumasi, Ghana where she completed her secondary school education and obtained her West African Senior School Certificate. Lydia Forson graduated from the University of Ghana where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in English Language and Information Studies.
In 2010, she won the African Movie Academy Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Lydia Forson acting career started in 2005 when she played a cameo role in Hotel St. James. She has acted in many other movies which include Run Baby, Different Shades of Blue and a stint in the reality show The Next Star in Nigeria.
Shirley Frimpong Manso, the CEO of Sparrow Productions, who had previously worked with her in the Ghanaian television series “Different Shades of Blue” brought Lydia Forson back to the screens through the movie “Scorned”. Her role in the movie “Scorned” won her the award for Best Upcoming Female Actress at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).
In 2009, Lydia Forson starred in the award-winning movie “The Perfect Picture” which was produced by Shirley Frimpong-Manso. She has also starred in movies like A Sting in a Tale, Phone Swap and Masquerades.
In 2009, she was nominated for Best Upcoming Female Actress at the African Movie Academy Award. In 2010, she won the award for Best Actress in a Leading Role at the African Movie Academy Award. In 2012, she won the award for Best Screenplay at the Ghana Movie Awards for her role in the movie “In The Cupboard”.
Lydia Forson is currently one of the richest and most influential actress in Ghana with an estimated net worth of $300,000.
