Majid Michel is a famous Ghanaian actor, model, evangelist, investor, entrepreneur and a television personality. He is popularly known as a lover boy due to the romantic roles he plays in movies. He has been described as one of the most talented actors in Ghana and also one of the best romantic actors in Africa. He is very handsome, gifted, skillful, creative and talented in acting and interpretation of movie roles. He knows how to interpret his roles very well and can fit in any character given to him by movie directors and producers in Ghana and Nigeria respectively.

He was born on 22nd September 1980 in a military cantonment in Accra, Ghana to a Lebanese father and a Ghanaian mother. He is currently 42 years old. He grew up in Accra with his nine siblings. Majid Michel attended St. Theresa’s Primary School in Accra, Ghana and obtained his first school leaving certificate. After which he completed his secondary school education and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate at Mfantsipim School alongside with his fellow actor, friend and collide in the movie industry Van Vicker. Mfantsipim School also happens to be the alma mater of former Secretary General of the United Nations, Kofi Annan.

While in secondary school, Majid Michel was actively involved in theater club and was an active member of the school Drama Club. As a member of the drama club, he received a Best Actor Award in one of their performances in Cape Coast, Ghana.

After completing his primary and secondary school education, Majid Michel proceeded further to University of Ghana where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre Arts. While still in the university he started attending movie auditions and acting in several upcoming productions. He was regarded as one of the best actors in Ghana and was awarded with several awards and recognitions. Majid Michel after graduation from the university worked in several reputable organizations in Ghana before joining the Ghana movie industry professionally.

He joined the Ghana movie industry popularly known as Ghallywood as a professional actor in 2000 and starred in his first television series “Things We Do for Love” a TV series which brought him to limelight and gave him a lot of advantage in the make-belief industry. After which he was given a lead role in the romantic movie titled “Divine Love” a movie he acted alongside with actress Jackie Appiah and actor Van Vicker. His performance in the movie earned him an award for Best Actor in a Leading Role and Most Outstanding Actor in Ghana at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.

The huge success of the movie “Divine Love” made Majid Michel, Jackie Appiah and Van Vickers a household name in Ghana. In 2008, Majid Michel acted in the blockbuster movie “Agony of Christ” which earned him 7 nominations at the Africa Movie Academy Awards and Ghana Movie Awards. In the movie he played the role of an evangelist who went on a mission in a local traditional community to liberate them and connect them with Jesus Christ who is our personal lord and savior. He was later crucified to death by the community leaders and Nadia Buari, who played the role of a Chief Priestess.

In 2009, Majid Michel became famous in Nigeria after starring in the Nollywood blockbuster movie titled “Silent Scandal” a movie he acted alongside with Nollywood actress Genevieve Nnaji. In 2012, Majid Michel won the award for Best Actor in a Leading Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards. He is currently married to Virna Michel and the marriage is blessed with beautiful kids. Majid Michel has been regarded as one of the highest paid actors in Ghana. In 2017, he was listed as the richest actors in Ghana and in 2018, 2019 and 2020, he was listed as the most handsome actors in Ghana.

Majid Michel has often been compared to fellow Ghanaian actor Van Vicker and Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah, due to their close resemblance and unique roles in movies.
