Ngozi Ezeonu is a veteran Nollywood actress and former journalist notable for her maternal roles in Nollywood movies. She was born on 23rd May 1965 in Ogbunike, Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. She is currently 56 years old. In 2012, she starred in Adesuwa, a role that earned her the Best Supporting Actress nomination at the 8th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
Her father’s name is Dennis Ikpelue while her mother’s name is Ezenwanyi Ikpelue. She is a native of Ogbunike, but was born in Owerri to Dennis Ikpelue and Ezenwanyi Ikpelue and has six siblings. Prior to finding fame as an actress, she studied Journalism at the Nigerian Institute of Journalism and worked for Radio Lagos and Eko FM.
Although she is best known for her reprisal of mother figures, Ngozi Ezeonu was originally cast as younger characters at the start of her acting career in the early 90s. In 1993, veteran film director Zeb Ejiro offered Ngozi Ezeonu a supporting role as Nkechi, the antagonist’s best friend in the Igbo blockbuster film Nneka The Pretty Serpent. This was followed by her role in the 1994 blockbuster movie Glamour Girls, where she played the role of Thelma, a high society mistress.
Ngozi Ezeonu has been described as a hard working Nollywood actress and a television personality. She is often regarded as mummy of Nollywood. She has been in the industry for over 2 decades. She always plays the role of a good mother, royal queen, mother in-law and house wife in several Nollywood movies. She is very beautiful, gifted, skillful, creative and talented. She is currently a GLO ambassador and also has endorsement deal with top beauty brands. She has been regarded as one of the most beautiful actresses in Nigeria.

In 2007, Ngozi Ezeonu received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the African Movie Academy Awards for Most Accomplished Actress in Nigeria.
