Nsikayesizwe David Junior Ngcobo popularly known by his stage name as Nasty C is a fast rising South African rapper, songwriter and record producer. He was born on 11th February 1997 in illovo, Durban in the KwaZulu-Natal province of South Africa. He is currently 22 years old. He is very handsome, gifted, skillful, creative and talented.

Nasty C was raised by his father in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. His mother died when he was only 11 months old in a fatal car crash. He is best known for the single “Way It Go” by DJ Switch featuring Tumi and Youngsta, as well as the well-received remix to his single “Juice Back” which features Davido and Cassper Nyovest.

He was the youngest recipient for an award at the 2015 South African Hip Hop Awards, namely the Best Freshman Award. In July 2018, Nasty C released his second studio album titled “String and Blings”. Nasty C was named as one of the best rappers in South Africa and Africa as a whole in 2018 by TINA Magazine.

Nasty C originates from Durban, KwaZulu Natal province of South Africa. He started rapping at the age of 9 years old, having been influenced by his older brother who was a music producer at the time. He eventually mastered the process of music production and began adding his vocals on the beats he was making. He was later signed to Durban-based artist management company “Free World Music”.

Nasty C released his first mixtape “One Kid A Thousand Coffins” on 24th May 2012. His second project titled “L.A.M.E” (Extended Play Version) – EP was released on 4th April 2014. L.A.M.E. is an acronym for “Levitating Above My Enemies”.

On 10th February 2015, Nasty C went on to release his highly successful mixtape titled “Price City” and release hit single “Juice Back” which later spawned a remix featuring Davido and Cassper Nyovest. The music was produced by Gemini Major. On 9th January 2016, Nasty C was featured on Anatii and Cassper Nyovest’s collaborative single “Jump”.
The official music video for the remix to the single “Juice Back” was released on 17th January 2016. Nasty C has appeared on SWAY in the Morning and has freestyle on 6lack’s problem instrumental. On 15th February 2018, Nasty C announced that he has been officially signed to Universal Music Group and had departed from Mabala Noise.

According to him, the stage name “Nasty C” was given to him by the first producer he ever worked with. His dream of meeting one of his major influences became a reality when he met AKA, and opened for him during the nationwide album launch for AKA’s debut studio album “Altar Ego”. During the album launch, Nasty C performed alongside AKA at a Durban festival and it was one of the best experiences of his life. AKA was the first to shower Nasty C with praises.

In early 2016, Nasty C released “Hell Naw” as the first single of his debut studio album “Bad Hair” which was set to be released later on. Hell Naw peaked at number 4 on the music charts in South Africa. The song also peaked at number 1 on The Beat 99.9 FM African Top 10 Chart in Nigeria. After that, he was signed to Mabala Noise Entertainment. While in Mabala Noise Entertainment, he finally released “Bad Hair” a highly anticipated project on music streaming platform Audiomack.

He later explained that this was due to a sample he couldn’t clear from one song in time before the release. In December 2016, Nasty C released an extended version of Bad Hair titled “Bad Hair Extensions” with notable singles like “Allow” featuring the American rapper “French Montana”.

On 6th July 2018, Nasty C released his second debut studio album “Strings and Blings”. The release was preceded by three singles such as “Jungle”, “King” and “Legendary”. Strings And Blings features guest appearances from American rapper A$AP Ferg, Rowlene and Kaien Cruz.

The album is praised for its remarkable production provided by Gemini Major and record producer Tweezy. Nasty C is also praised on tracks such as Another One Down. While also being criticized for being too long and having too much filler, the album is praised as one of the best rap albums of 2018 in South Africa.

Nasty C started his music career in 2013 and has two studio albums to his name. His first debut studio album “Bad Hair” was released in 2016 while his second debut studio album “Strings and Blings” was released in 2018.

Nasty C in the cause of his career has been nominated and has won so many awards. In 2015, he won Best Freshman at the South African Hip Hop Awards. In 2016, he was nominated for Lyricist of the Year at the South African Hip Hop Awards. In 2017, he won Best New Artist, Best Male Album, Best Hip Hop Album and Song of the Year at the 16th Metro FM Music Awards. In 2017, he was nominated for Best International Act (Africa) at the BET Awards.

Nasty C is currently one of the richest and most influential artist in South Africa with an estimated net worth of $1.2 million.
