Nigerian Army In A Gun Battle With The IPOB Eastern Security Network Members

According to Sahara Reporters, an eye witness has disclosed that there has been tension in certain parts of Nsukka town since Wednesday. According to news gathered, it was disclosed that some troops of the Nigerian Army are currently in a battle with gunmen who are suspected to be operatives of the Eastern Security Network known as ESN in Nsukka town of Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria.

It was gathered that the Nigeria military took the battle to the base of the suspected Eastern Security Network operatives which is believed to be their hiding place. According to a reliable source in the area, it was revealed that there is tension in the area while the gun battle goes on. Many people have abandoned their houses and have fled to other close communities as refugees.

Sahara reporters had reported on Tuesday that eight persons were killed after Fulani herdsmen and operatives of the eastern security network (ESN) had a violent clash in Adani which is an area in the “Uzo-Uwani” Local Government Area of Enugu State.

Sahara Reporters stated that the ESN operatives came with the aim of supporting the community of “Igga” who were being allegedly attacked by Fulani herdsmen in their houses and as well as their farms.

According to eyewitnesses who narrated that the trouble began on Sunday, when some Fulani herdsmen shot a member of the community in his farm land and also prevented those who came to sympathize with the victim family from carrying the victims to hospital for medical care.
