The Nigerian Police seek partnership with Nollywood practitioners to sustain positive image for the industry. The film industry in Nigeria makes billions of naira yearly and has proven to be one of our major exports, which is one reason we need to guard it jealously. Our actors and actresses are living extravagant lifestyle. The life of fame, glamour, money and flamboyance has become the order of their day and it’s a life many of us are dreaming to live in.
Due to this fact, the Nigerian Police are seeking partnership deal with practitioners of the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood with a promise to sustain it positive image. The Commissioner of Police, Enugu State command, Mr. Suleiman Balarabe has sought partnership with the Nigerian movie industry popularly known as Nollywood and creative industry with the promise to sustain positive image for the industry.
Mr. Suleiman Balarabe made this call when the Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria led by its President Sele .O. Sele paid him a courtesy visit on Monday at the State Police headquarters in Enugu.
The Commissioner also charged members of Nollywood and Creative Industry to always remain good partners and ambassadors of the Nigerian Police. He urged them to improve their leadership skills to take over governance.
According to his words;
“We will want our good friends in the Nollywood and the Creative Industry to be ambassadors of the country and the Nigeria Police. We also urge you to use your works and talents to support our programmes and activities meant to put the police in a positive light” he said.
According to the Enugu State Commissioner of Police, Nollywood and the Creative Industry have gained a lot of audience and can assist to change narratives that showcase the police in a bad light. The Commissioner stressed that the need for improved synergy and interaction between the police and the Nollywood/creative industry for the overall good of the country.
It was also reported that earlier the President of Creative Designers Guild of Nigeria, Sele .O. Sele applauded the efforts of the Enugu State Police Command in crime prevention, which had made the State one of the safest in the country.
According to his words;
“Nollywood and the entire creative industry will continue to promote cordial working relationship with the Nigeria Police” he said.
