Okechukwu Edwards Ukeje popularly known by his stage name as Nigga Raw is a famous Nigerian indigenous rapper, singer, songwriter, recording artiste, stage performer, model, actor and a philanthropist. He was born on 1^st November 1975 in Achara Layout, Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. He is currently 42 years old.

He is very handsome, creative, gifted and talented. He is popularly known for rapping in Igbo indigenous language with lyrical rhythms. Nigga Raw is originally from Ebem Ohafia, a small town in Abia State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. Nigga Raw attended Robinson Primary School in Uwani, Enugu State, Nigeria and obtained his First School Leaving Certificate. After completing his primary school education, Nigga Raw proceeded to Awkunanaw Boys Secondary School in Achara Layout, Enugu State, Nigeria and obtained his West African Senior School Certificate.

After completing his secondary school education, Nigga Raw proceeded to Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) Enugu and graduated with a Higher National Diploma (HND) in Business Administration Management (BAM). Nigga Raw started rapping right from his secondary school days while still at Awkunanaw Boys. In 2001, he started his music career professionally after completing his tertiary education.

He is often regarded as one of the pioneers of Igbo rap, a genre that now appeals to a broad, global and mainstream audience. He was born and raised in Enugu, but he is originally from Ebem Ohafia in Abia State, both in the south eastern part of Nigeria. He gained prominence during the early 2000s while rapping in the Igbo language and Pidgin English.

Nigga Raw became a public figure after releasing his hit singles “Obodo” and “Hip Hop Gyration” which topped number one at the MTV music chart and banged in several clubs, radio and television stations the late 2000s.

Nigga Raw is the elder brother to Nigerian popular rapper Hype MC who rap mostly in Igbo indigenous language just like Nigga Raw. He is currently a role model to many top rappers in Nigeria.

He has been described by many publications as the best indigenous rapper in Nigeria. He was the one that influenced Phyno, Ibliss, Hype MC, Slow Dogg and other top Nigerian indigenous rappers who rap mostly in Igbo language.

Nigga Raw came out with his own style, a unique creativity and surprised his fans, now everybody love his music and want to be associated with him. His hit single “N’abania” alongside with Flavour has topped many charts in Nigeria.

On 7^th August 2005, Nigga Raw released his first debut studio album “Right & Wrong” which had hit singles like “Obodo” and “Hip Hop Gyration”. The album experienced commercial success and helped propel him to the next level in his career.

His second debut studio album “Everything Remains Raw” was released in 2007. The album received massive airplays in clubs, radio and television stations, paving the way for future performers in the genre.

In 2010, Nigga Raw released his third debut studio album “End of Discussion” with hit single like “O! Chukwu” which received massive airplay in Nigeria. In 2010, the music video of the hit single “O! Chukwu” won him an award for Best Afro Hip Hop Video of the Year at the Nigeria Music Video Awards.

In 2012, Nigga Raw released his fourth debut studio album “The Greatest” with several hit singles banging on the air waves. Despite his fame as a solo artist, Nigga Raw has collaborated with numerous top musical artists such as Flavour, Duncan Mighty, Phyno, Illbliss, 2Face Idibia, Hype MC, Slow Dogg, Slim Brown, Wiz Boy, amongst other. In 2009, Nigga Raw got married to his beautiful wife and the marriage is blessed with beautiful kids.

Nigga Raw in the cause of his music career has won several awards which include Best Afro Hip Hop Video of the Year at the Nigeria Music Video Awards, Next Rated Artiste at the Headies Awards, Best Collaboration of the Year at the Nigerian Entertainment and Best African Indigenous Rapper at the Nigerian Music Video Awards.

Nigga Raw is currently one of the richest and most influential artiste in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $4 million.
