The family of the Leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra, (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has told the Federal Government of Nigeria not to maltreat their son presently in the Department of State Services (DSS) custody. Nnamdi Kanu younger brother, Emmanuel Kanu, while speaking to newsmen in Umuahia, the Abia state capital said Nnamdi Kanu is on the part of truth and has no way committed any crime to deserve any persecution.
He said the IPOB leader was only demanding the freedom of Biafrans which is their fundamental human right; hence, his rights should be respected. He warned the Nigerian government to handle their son with caution, adding that the whole world is watching.
According to his words; “My brother Nnamdi Kanu has awoken the consciousness of Nigerians about the going-on in the country. He stood for the truth, and Heaven is on the part of anyone standing for the truth. My brother committed no crime, and the whole world is watching,” Emmanuel Kanu added.
Meanwhile, there has been suspicion on how Nnamdi Kanu was extradited to Nigeria. Some believed it was a conspiracy between the Kenya government and the Nigerian government to put Nnamdi Kanu behind bars.
