Nnamdi Kanu In Trauma Raises Alarm In DSS Custody Over Assassination Attempts

The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is currently in trauma as he raises alarm over an attempt to assassinate him in the DSS custody. The IPOB leader had rejected the entire offer presented to him by the Federal Government of Nigeria to denounce Biafra and embrace Nigeria, but he refused all their offers and right now they think the best thing to do is to assassinate him and maybe claim that he took his own life out of frustration.

Nnamdi Kanu has been on a private confinement at the DSS custody since he was kidnapped in Kenya and his extraordinary rendition to Nigeria, the IPOB leader have appeared before Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja three times to defend himself from the seven count amended charges leveled against him by the Federal Government of Nigeria which is bothering on treason, felony, terrorism, possession of fire arms and organization of illegal group.

This was not the first time that Nnamdi Kanu has escaped assassination attempt. In 2017, Nnamdi Kanu flew to UK after some armed soldiers stormed his home in Afara Ukwu in Umuahia, Abia State to assassinate him. Luckily he flew out of the country and went on perpetual exile to the United Kingdom and has been in the UK for the past four years until he was kidnapped in Kenya and brought back to Nigeria in June this year.

Right now the attempt on his life has continued and God is always protecting him. In his last trial, the Federal Government DSS refused his lawyers from entering into the court room and wanted him to defend himself in court, but he refused and stated that he can’t defend himself in court without the presence of his legal team and that was why Justice Binta Nyako adjourned his case till January 19, 2022.

Also aside from Nnamdi Kanu, they have been about two attempts on the life of Nnamdi Kanu lead counsel Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor. Few months ago, Nnamdi Kanu has been devastated by the news of an alleged attempt by gunmen to assassinate his lead counsel, Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor in Umuahia, Abia state. Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor disclosed on his official Facebook page during a statement to give an update on his routine visit to the detained IPOB leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since June 2021.

The IPOB lawyer stated that there was an attempted assassination on his life by some unknown gunmen. The legal practitioner also stated that Nnamdi Kanu was briefed on all the current happenings in the south east and how the Nigerian government is trying to assassinate all his followers and those who stand for justice.

Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor who visited Nnamdi Kanu in company with Barr Maxwell Opara, after hearing the news of the attempted assassination on Mazi Nnamdi Kanu life stated that God is alive and that Chukwuokike abiama will never let his people perish in the hands of their enemies. He however, told Biafrans and supporters of freedom fighters all over the world not to relent in their prayers for the safety of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. He however, added that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu commended his followers and well-wishers for standing their ground amid oppression.

According to Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor; “I observed our routine visit to our indefatigable client, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu in the company of my colleague Barr Maxwell Opara Esq. The meeting was awesome. “Expectedly, our client, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu was traumatized by the attempt on his life and the troubling news of the brutal attempt to assassinate me (his lead counsel). However, we were fully briefed on the miracle of God upon his life and that of my life too, because one with God is majority. Upon his recovery from the shock, he assured me that we are on this earth for a divine assignment and that no man will take our life because Chukwuokike Abiama is always on the throne.

“He was further briefed on other disturbing situations/happenings. He frowned on the desperate attempts by the agents of darkness to give a dog a bad name in order to hang it. Warnings and instructions were well noted because Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has always stood for peace and protection of our people and not the contrary. He thanked people of good conscience who have refused to be derailed regardless of the prevailing history of intimidation and victimization.”

The statement also revealed that Nnamdi Kanu advised all agitators to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner without violating law. The IPOB leader then sympathized with all Biafrans who have experienced all forms of loss for supporting him. The statement continued; “He emphatically urged all and sundry to continue to remain peaceful in their conduct, and always operate within the confines of the law as they have always done.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu offered special prayers to those who had lost earnings, opportunities, incomes and daily bread in the course of expressing their firm solidarity with him. He prays to Almighty Chukwuokike Abiama to reward them according to their sacrifices.

“Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu emphatically implored his followers to continue to shun violence and never to be cajoled or tempted by the enemies of our people into changing their peaceful method. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is in good spirits and very strong in his convictions. Miracle is really on the way, I will not spell it out here. But note that victory is assured Umuchineke. Do not lose hope and focus. Keep your eyes on the ball and never be distracted.

“Your prayers are working; kindly intensify more of your supplications without ceasing. Chukwuokike Abiama is always on the throne Umuchineke, and He cannot let his children down Iseeee. Thank you and remain hugely blessed Ezigbo Umuchineke. I love you all,” Barr Ifeanyi Ejiofor stated.
