Odera Nwobu is a fast rising Nollywood comic actor, model, master of ceremony, television personality and a comedian. He is well known for playing the role of a spoilt boy who always causes trouble in Nollywood movies. He was born and bred in both Enugu the Coal City of Enugu State and Onitsha, Anambra State both in the south eastern part of Nigeria.

Odera Nwobu is originally from Umubelle Village in Awka, Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. Odera Nwobu completed both his primary and secondary school education in both Enugu the coal city of Enugu State and Onitsha, Anambra State both in the south eastern part of Nigeria and obtained both his First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate.

After completing his secondary school education, Odera Nwobu joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) and acted in his first comedy movie “Joseph the Dreamer” alongside with Dede One Day. The success of the movie welcomed him to Nollywood with open arms and earned him a nomination for Best Comic Act to Watch at the Africa Movie Academy Awards.

In his first movie “Joseph the Dreamer” he played the role of a smart young boy who always dreams of his mother having illicit affair with other men when ever his father (Dede One Day) was not around and afterwards the dream later manifest to reality. The movie was very popular in Nigeria and made both Odera Nwobu and Dede One Day very popular in Nigeria as Nollywood best comic actors.

Odera Nwobu is one of the most talented comic actors in Nigeria. He is very funny and hilarious. His roles in movies create a lot of amusement and comic relief. Odera Nwobu acts mostly as spoilt brat who causes trouble in movies and uses comic scenario to create a lot of hilarious amusement.

Odera Nwobu has acted in more than 80 Nollywood movies which include, Joseph the Dreamer, Goat Lover, Born with a Silver Spoon, Useless Boys, Totally Disgraced, Odera The Thief, Amuche Formula One, The Short Gun, Bad Mother Spoilt Child, Crazy School Boys, Miss Touch and Follow, Laffing Jerks, etc. He acts mostly in comedy movies alongside with Dede One Day, John Okafor, Charles Inojie, Zubby Michael, Ime Bishop Umoh, Queen Nwokoye, Victor Osuagwu, Osita Iheme, Chinedu Ikedieze, Sam Loco Efe, Uche Ogbuagu, Charles Awurum and Okwy Chukwujekwu a.k.a Main Bossman.

Odera Nwobu apart from acting is also into modeling. He has appeared in several advert commercial and has made several cameo appearances in Phyno, Flavour, Bracket, Zoro and Kcee musical videos. In 2015, popular Nollywood comic actor Odera Nwobu and Miss VAL Anambra 2015 winner, Lady Ambrel made a cover appearance on Point TV Magazine with both models stripped topless in a controversial photo.

Odera Nwobu is currently one of the most gifted, most skillful, most creative and most talented comic actors Nollywood has ever produced in Nigeria. He acts both in English and Igbo speaking movies.

In 2017, Odera Nwobu created a lot of controversy after uploading the lifeless dead body of his best friend and colleague in the movie industry, Okwy Chukwujekwu a.k.a Main Bossman which went viral on social media. However, many people including Nollywood actor Wilson Joshua showed their displeasure over the act stating it is a pity and a shameful thing that we blacks mismanage and misuse the social media and electronic gadgets to upload lifeless body.

Odera Nwobu in the cause of his acting career has won several awards which include Best Comic Act to Watch at the Africa Movie Academy Awards, Best Comic Actor in Nigeria at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards, Best Actor in Comedy at the Nigeria Entertainment Awards and Best Comedian in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards.

Odera Nwobu is currently one of the richest and most influential comic actor in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $90,000.
