One Suspect Of Owo Catholic Church Massacre Has Been Arrested In Ondo

One of the suspected attackers of St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, Ondo State where more than 50 Christians where killed have been arrested according to reports from Daily Post. A trending video shows a crowd protesting within the palace of the Olowo of Owo, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye. One of them could be heard saying: “They want to take the suspect to Akure and burnt him alive. The youths are angry.”

Last Sunday, Gunmen invaded a Catholic church in Owo in the morning while church service was still going on and murdered several worshippers, including women and children in Ondo.

The death toll has hit 50, with others injured and still at the hospital receiving treatment. The Police had confirmed that some of the assailants disguised themselves as member of the church and fired shots from AK-47 rifles.

The security agency also announced that three unexploded Improvised Explosive Device at the scene (IEDs) were recovered. The Nigerian security and intelligent unit have reported that the people behind the massacre in Owo are the ISWAP. The Islamic State of West African Province is terrorist organizations that are clamouring for an Islamic state in Nigeria.

They are partnering with Boko Haram and have caused so many deaths and destruction of properties in the northern part of Nigeria and to actualize their evil agenda, they have decided to invade southern Nigeria.

One of the most grievous and sad news that went viral this month was about the Ondo massacre of Christians. The incident involved so many deaths as well as injuries. Many people were actually so sad as the lives of innocent souls were wasted for no reason. This is a great sign that this country is currently in a state of high insecurity. Over 50 people were killed including newly wedded couple, men, women and children.

After different reactions across the country, another notable African clergyman Bishop David Oyedepo, the founder of Winners Chapel have reacted to the massacre. He was very sad over the massacre. He recently promised that if those that are behind the incident escape death, then he is not a true servant of God. He laid a curse of the murderers and vow that they won’t escape the rot of God.
