Peter Obi Sends Strong Message To INEC After Jude Ezenwafor Step Down For Him

Former Anmbra state Governor and Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi on Thursday urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to facilitate speedy registration of Nigerians to enable them exercise their franchise in the upcoming general election which will take place in 2023. According to reports from our reliable source reveals that online pre-registration ended May 30th 2022 and the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) ends 30th June 2022.

Peter Obi alleged that in the South East region particularly, voter registration is dogged by inertia and bureaucratic bottlenecks.

According to his tweet on social media Peter Obi wrote; “Information reaching me indicate that voter registration across Nigeria, especially in the South East, is dogged by inertia and bureaucratic bottlenecks. I respectfully call on @inecnigeria to facilitate speedy registration of Nigerians to enable them exercise their voting rights,” Peter Obi wrote on his verified Twitter handle.

Meanwhile, INEC ratified the Labour Party’s leadership structure, recognizing officials loyal to presidential candidate, Peter Obi. This follows the declaration of Jude Ezenwafor, a former chairman of Labour Party in Anambra state, as the winner of a presidential primary organized by another faction of the party. Jude Ezenwafor, a sole aspirant, was elected through affirmation at the exercise which was held in Abuja on Wednesday.

Unfortunately, Jude Ezenwafor has surrendered his labour party presidential ticket and apologizes to Peter Obi. Mr Jude Ezenwafor, who was elected on Wednesday as the factional presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has surrendered his presidential ambitions in the party and tendered his apologies to the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi. According to gazzettenews, Mr Jude Ezenwafor submitted his letter of withdrawal where he said that he no longer wishes to go ahead with the presidential race for personal reasons, and also apologized for the inconveniences his political ambition might have caused the Labour Party.

Mr Peter Obi was elected as the presidential flag bearer of the Labour Party for the 2023 general elections after he decamped from the major opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). However, the internet was buzzing on Wednesday when the news of the selection of Mr Jude Ezenwafor as the factional presidential candidate of the party surfaced, which prompted many Nigerians to ask about the position of Mr Peter Obi and his presidential ambition.

Also, reports reaching us revealed that Apostle Johnson Suleman has endorsed Peter Obi as the next president of Nigeria. The General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman has announced the name of his preferred presidential candidate. The cleric chose to show his endorsement of the Labour Party presidential candidate on his Facebook page when he simply wrote, Peter Obi. This has consequently attracted reactions from many of his followers who praised him for taking such a bold step. According to him, Peter Obi has been anointed as the next President of Nigeria and he is the only candidate qualified to lead Nigeria to prosperity.
