The President of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari has sacked the director-general of the National Directorate of Employment Nasiru Argungu. On Saturday, Presidential spokesman Garba Shehu made the announcement without giving the reason for it. The directive was given on Friday, 4th of December, 2020 will have an effect starting from Monday, December 7th, 2020.
Garba Shehu wrote that “The Supervising Minister of the Agency, the Hon Minister of State, Labour and Employment has been given a directive to nominate an acting DG from the midst of the most Senior Directors based on their capability and ranks to take over from Dr. Nasiru Argungu until the President appoints a more qualified holder.
