Ayoleyi Hanniel Solomon popularly known as Reekado Banks is a fast rising Nigerian singer, songwriter, recording artist, stage performer, actor and a model. He is currently signed to Mavin Records headed by Don Jazzy. He was born on 6^th December 1993 in Lagos, Nigeria. He is currently 24 years old. He is originally from Ondo State in the western part of Nigeria.

He started singing at a very tender age with the stage name “Spicy”. But after receiving a record deal contract my Don Jazzy to join the Mavin crew, he decided to change his name from “Spicy” to “Reekado Banks”.

He grew up in a Christian family. His father is a pastor currently based in Ondo State while his mother is a caterer. His sister is a gospel singer while his brother is a music producer.

Reekado Banks is the last child in the family. He completed both his primary and secondary school education at the age of 14 years old. After obtaining his West African Senior School Certificate, Reekado Banks proceeded to University of Lagos and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Strategic Study with a second class lower division.

He started composing and writing song right from his secondary school days. His brother was his personal music producer until he got signed to Mavin Records and Don Jazzy took over as his personal music producer.

In 2008 Reekado Banks recorded his first single which was produced in his brother studio. According to him 2Face Idibia, Olamide, MI, DJ Jimmy Jatt and Don Jazzy where his role model in the entertainment industry. On 28^th February 2014, Reekado Banks was signed to Mavin Records alongside with Korede Bello and Dija by Don Jazzy. The crew released their first single “Dorobucci” featuring Don Jazzy, Tiwa Savage, D’Prince, Dr. Sid, Korede Bello and Dija. The song became trending in Nigerian and skyrocket Reekado Banks Korede Bello and Dija to fame.

After the release of “Dorobucci” Reekado Banks went ahead to release his hit single “Turn it Up” featuring Tiwa Savage. The song “Turn it Up” made him a celebrity and a public figure all over the world. The song “Turn it Up” won him an award for best music video at the Nigerian Entertainment Awards and gave him a nomination for best upcoming artiste in Nigeria at the Headies Award. The song “Turn it Up” tops the charts at MTV and remained there for many weeks.

Reekado Banks has released so many songs which include Katapot, Sugar Baby, Chop Am and Oluwa Ni. The song “Oluwa Ni” was based on appreciation to God almighty for his success in the entertainment industry.

In 2017, Reekado Banks released his latest hit single “Easy Jeje” the song topped many charts in Nigeria. Reekado Banks have travelled around the world and have performed in different shows, events and ceremony both internationally and locally.

In 2014, Reekado Banks won the Headies Award for Best Rokie of the Year. In 2015, Reekado Banks won the Headies Award for Next Rated Artiste of the Year. In 2015, Reekado Banks won the Best Video of the Year Award at the Headies Award for his music video “Katapot”. In 2015, Reekado Banks won the Award for Most Promising Act to watch at the City People Entertainment Awards.

In 2015, Reekado Banks signed an endorsement Deal with telecom giant GLO worth millions of naira alongside with Korede Bello and Dija. Reekado Banks is among the fastest selling artiste in Nigeria with his latest released song topping the charts at MTV base.

Reekado Banks is currently one of the richest and most influential artiste in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $1.2 million.
