Robyn Rihanna Fenty popularly known as Rihanna is an American singer, song writer, recording artiste, stage performer, fashion designer, actress, model and a philanthropist. She was born on 20^th February, 1988 in Saint Michael, Barbados. She is currently 29 years old. Her mother’s name is Mrs. Monica Braithwaite, she is a retired accountant of Afro-Guyanese background, while her father’s name is Mr. Ronald Fenty, he is a warehouse supervisor of Afro-Barbadian and Irish descent.

Rihanna has two brothers, Rorrey and Rajad Fenty, and two half-sisters and a half-brother from her father’s side, each born to different mothers from his previous relationships.

She grew up in a three-bedroom bungalow in Bridgetown in the United States of America and sold clothes with her father in a stall on the street. Rihanna’s childhood was deeply affected by her father’s addiction to crack cocaine and alcohol, which contributed to her parents’ strained marriage.

As a child, she went through a lot of CT scans due to the excruciating headaches she suffered from. By the time she was 14 years old, Rihanna’s parents had divorced and her health began to improve. Rihanna grew up listening to reggae music and began singing at around the age of 7 years old.

Rihanna attended Charles F. Broome Memorial Primary School and Combermere High School both in United States of America, where she studied alongside with future England cricketer superstar Chris Jordan and future West Indies cricket legend, Carlos Brathwaite.

After graduating from high school, Rihanna decided to pursue a musical career. In 2003, Rihanna recorded a demo tapes under the direction of record producer Evan Rogers and signed a recording contract with “Def Jam Recordings” after auditioning for its then president, hip hop producer and rapper Jay Z.

In 2005, Rihanna rose to fame with the release of her debut studio album “Music of the Sun” In 2006 Rihanna released her second studio album “A Girl Like Me” which charted on the top 10 of the US Billboard 200 and respectively produced singles like “Pon De Replay” and “SOS”.

In 2007, Rihanna released her third studio album “Good Girl Gone Bad” with hit song like “Umbrella” and adopted a public image as a sex symbol while reinventing her music career.

In 2008 the hit song “Umbrella” from her third studio album “Good Girl Gone Bad” won her a Grammy Awards for Best Rap/Song Collaboration alongside with Jay Z.

In 2012, Rihanna released her fourth studio album “Unapologetic” the album won her another “Grammy Award” as a pop icon. In 2016 she released her sixth, seventh and eight studio album with hit singles like Take a Bow, Only Girl, We Found Love, Diamonds, The Monster, Love the Way You Lie, Live Your Life, etc.

Rihanna is one of the best selling artists of all time. Rihanna is also the youngest and fastest solo artist to earn fourteen number-one singles on the Billboard Hot 100, as well as a current total of 31 Top 10 Hits on the same chart.

In 2010, Rihanna was named the Digital Song Artist of the year, top 100 artist of the year and number-one artist in the history of pop songs by Billboard. In summary, Rihanna has won eight Grammy Awards and twelve American Music Awards.

She is widely recognized for frequently reinventing her style. In 2014, Rihanna received the Fashion Icon lifetime achievement award from the Council of Fashion Designers of America.

In 2012 Forbes magazine ranked Rihanna as the fourth most powerful celebrity of 2012. That same year Time magazine listed her as one of the 100 Most Influential People in the World.

Rihanna has dated Chris Brown for many years. But they broke up due to some few misunderstanding between the two. Rihanna is currently dating Drake.

Rihanna owns a mansion in Barbados worth $29 million, she also owns a mansion in Los Angeles worth $45 million, and she also owns a mansion in New York City worth $35 million.
