Rita Edochie is a famous Nollywood actress and a television personality. She was born and bred in Onitsha, Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. She was brought up by her uncle, Mr. Okaka since her childhood. She is very beautiful, gifted, skillful, creative and talented in acting and interpretation of movie roles and can fit in any character given to her by movie directors and producers in Nigeria.
Rita Edochie is a mother of four children and also a grandmother. Rita Edochie is currently the wife of Tony Edochie, the younger brother to Nollywood legend Chief Pete Edochie and who is also a staff at the Anambra State Broadcasting Service.
Rita Edochie is originally from Onitsha, Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria, where she completed both her primary and secondary school education and obtained both her First School Leaving Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate.
After completing her primary and secondary school education, Rita Edochie proceeded to Nnamdi Azikiwe University in Awka, Anambra State, Nigeria and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication in 1990.
Rita Edochie started her acting career in 1997. She joined the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood) that year and started featuring in Nollywood movies. She is a famous face in the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood).
After her graduation from the university, Rita Edochie got a job as a radio presenter at the Anambra State Broadcasting Service, her first employer after finishing her university studies, before she finally settled for acting in 1997 and is still acting till date.
Rita Edochie’s family is very wide and compost of actors and actresses. Many people wonder if Rita Edochie and Pete Edochie are husband and wife. Well, that is not true. She is the wife of Tony Edochie, who happens to be the younger brother to Pete Edochie. Rita Edochie has been married to Tony Edochie for over 30 years now. She got married to Tony Edochie immediately she finished her secondary school education.
Rita Edochie has acted in more than 200 Nollywood movies which include Waterloo, Mama Oyoyo, a Mother’s Pride, The Storm, Abuja Boys, Tears and Sorrow, Across the Bridge, Christian Girls, Circle of Lives, First Commandment, Floating Feelings, No More War,  etc. She is popularly known for her ability to cry in movies and always play motherly roles in movies. Rita Edochie is currently one of the most gifted and most talented actresses in Nigeria. She can feature in any role and has the ability to interpret her character very well.
Rita Edochie has a cordial relationship with her brother-in-law, Pete Edochie and respects him so much as elder brother and a mentor. She followed the footsteps of Pete Edochie by joining the Nigerian movie industry (Nollywood). However, since her childhood, she has demonstrated her acting skills on stage play and drama and was an active member of her a dramatic club during her secondary school days.
During an interview with the media, Rita Edochie described her husband Tony Edochie as a good husband and a caring father. She has acted in multiple Nollywood movies and has won several awards which include Most Promising Actress in Nigeria at the City People Entertainment Awards, Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the Africa Movie Academy Awards and Best Actress in a Leading Role at the Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards.
Rita Edochie is currently one of the richest and most influential actress in Nigeria with an estimated net worth of $600,000.
