At the age of 10years old, Robert Downey Jr. was living in England and studied classical ballet as part of a larger curriculum. He later attended the Stagedoor Manor Performing Arts Training Center in New York in the United States of America as a teenager.
When his parents divorced in 1978, Robert Downey Jr. moved to California with his father. In 1982, he dropped out of Santa Monica High School and moved back to Hollywood, New York City in the United States of America to pursue a full-time acting career.

In 1992, he starred in the film “Chaplin” a movie that earned him nomination for the Best Actor in a Leading Role at the BAFTA Award and Academy Award. After that, Robert Downey Jr. joined the cast of the TV series “Ally McBeal” where he played the role of Calista Flockharts’s love interest. The movie won him the award for Best Actor at the Golden Globe Award. Unfortunately, his character was terminated when he was fired after two drug arrests in late 2000 and early 2001. After his last stay in a court, Robert Downey Jr. achieved sobriety.
In 2005, he featured in the black comedy crime film “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”. In 2007, he starred in the movie “Zodiac” and in 2008, he starred in the satirical action comedy movie “Tropic Thunder”. For his roles in those three blockbuster movies, Robert Downey Jr. was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Academy Award.

In 2009, Robert Downey Jr. starred in the movie “Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes” which earned him his second Golden Globe Award for Best Actor. In 2011, he starred in the movie “Its Sequel” which have earned over $500 million at the box office worldwide.
As of 2018, the U.S domestic box-office grosses of Robert Downey Jr. films total over US $4.9 billion, with worldwide grosses surpassing $11.6 billion, making Robert Downey Jr. the third highest-grossing U.S domestic box-office star of all time and also one of the highest earning actor and richest actor in the United States of America.
On 29th May 1992, Robert Downey Jr. got married to Hollywood actress/singer Deborah Falconer. Their son, Indio Falconer Downey, was born in September 1993. Unfortunately, in 2004, Robert Downey Jr. and Deborah Falconer got divorce and went their separate ways. In 2005, Robert Downey Jr. got married again to Susan Levin.
Robert Downey Jr. is currently one of the richest and most influential actor in the United States of America with an estimated net worth of $260 million.
