Ronaldo de Assis Moreira popularly known as Ronaldinho is a world football legend and a famous Brazilian professional and international footballer, investor, entrepreneur and a philanthropist, who played as an attacking midfielder and forward striker for his country Brazil national team and a former attacking midfielder and forward striker for Spanish club like Barcelona, AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.

He is currently an ambassador for Barcelona. He has been described by many as one of the greatest and most skillful football player in the world. Ronaldinho played mostly as an attacking midfielder, but was also deployed as a forward striker and also a winger.

He was born on 21st March 1980 in the city of Porto Alegre, the state capital of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. He is currently 38 years old. His father, João Moreira, was a former professional soccer player who also worked as a welder in a shipyard and his mother, Miguelina de Assis, was a cosmetics saleswoman who later became a nurse.Ronaldinho played the bulk of his career at European clubs Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and AC Milan as well as playing for the Brazilian national team. He has often been considered as one of the best players of his generation and regarded by many as one of the greatest of all time.

Ronaldinho has won two FIFA World Player of the Year award and a Ballon d’Or. He was renowned for his technical skills and creativity in the game of football. Due to his flexibility, pace and dribbling ability, as well as his use of tricks, feints, overhead kicks, no-look passes and accuracy from free-kicks, he has been described as the greatest and most skillful football player in the planet.

Ronaldinho made his career debut for Gremio in 1998. At the age of 20 years old, he moved to Paris Saint-Germain in France before signing for defending champions Barcelona in 2003. In his second season with Barcelona, he won his first FIFA World Player of the Year award, as Barcelona won La Liga.

The season that followed is considered as one of the best in his career as he was instrumental in Barcelona winning the UEFA Champions League, their first in fourteen years, as well as another La Liga title, giving Ronaldinho his first career double.

After scoring two spectacular solo goals in El Clasico, Ronaldinho became the second Barcelona player, after Diego Maradona in 1983 to receive a standing ovation from Real Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabeu stadium in Spain.

Ronaldinho has also received his second FIFA World Player of the Year award as well as the Ballon d’Or. Following a second-place La Liga finish to rivals Real Madrid in the 2006-2007 seasons and an injury plagued in 2007-2008 season, Ronaldinho departed Barcelona to join AC Milan. He then returned to Brazil to play for Flamengo in 2011 and Atletico Mineiro a year later, where he won the Copa Libertadores, before moving to Mexico to play for Queretaro and then back to Brazil to play for Fluminense in 2015. Ronaldinho has accumulated numerous other individual awards in his football career. He was included in the UEFA Team of the Year and the FIFA World XI three times. He has also been named UEFA Club Footballer of the Year in 2006 and the South American Footballer of the Year in 2012. He has also been included in the FIFA 100 lists of the world’s greatest living players compiled by Pele.

At international level, Ronaldinho has played 97 matches for his country Brazil national team, scoring 33 goals and representing his country in two FIFA World Cups. He was an integral part of the 2002 FIFA World Cup winning team in Korea and Japan, starring alongside Ronaldo and Rivaldo in an attacking trio, scoring two goals, including a free-kick from 40 yards out against England, registering two assists and being named in the FIFA World Cup All-Star Team.

As the captain of the Brazilian national team, he led Brazil to their second Confederation Cup title in 2005 and was named Man of the Match in the final. Ronaldinho has scored three goals in the tournament, taking his total to nine, making him the competition’s joint all-time leading goal scorer.

Ronaldinho has had endorsements with many companies, including Nike, Pepsi, Coca-cola, EA Sport, Gatorade and Danone. He is one of the world’s highest paid players. In 2006, he earned over $19 million from endorsements only. Having endorsed Pepsi for much of his career and appeared in commercials with David Beckham, Thierry Henry and Lionel Messi.

Ronaldinho signed a deal with Coca-Cola in 2011, however this deal was terminated in July 2012 after he was caught drinking Pepsi in a news conference. Ronaldinho is currently married with beautiful kids.

Ronaldinho is currently one of the richest and most influential football player in Brazil with an estimated net worth of $90 million.
