Selena Marie Gomez popularly known as Selena Gomez is an American singer, songwriter, recording artiste, stage performer, actress and a model. She was born on 22^nd July 1992 in Grand Prairie, Texas in the United States of America. She is currently 25 years old. Her father’s name is Ricardo Joel Gomez while her mother’s name is Amanda Dawn Cornett.

Selena Gomez parents divorced when she was five years old, and she preferred to remain with her mother. She has two siblings namely “Grace Elliot Teefey” from her mother second marriage and Victoria Tori Gomez from her father second marriage.

Selena Gomez mother was 16 years old when she gave birth to her. The family had financial challenges during Selena Gomez childhood, with her mother struggling to provide for the family.

In 2002, she started her career at the age of 10 and starred in the popular children’s television series “Barney & Friends” where she played the role of Gianna. In 2007 Selena Gomez rose to fame after playing the lead role of Alex Russo in the Disney Channel television series “Wizards of Waverly Place”

In 2011 the band released their third studio album “When the Sun Goes Down” In 2012 the group disbanded and Selena Gomez went solo.

In 2013, Selena Gomez released her first debut solo album “Stars Dance” The album debuted at the top of U.S. Billboard 200 and included the top single like “Come and Get it”.

In 2015, Selena Gomez signed a new recording contract deal with “Interscope Records” and released her second solo album “Revival”. The album debuted on top of the U.S. Billboard 200 while the first three singles like “Good for You”, “Same Old Love”, and “Hands to Myself” all topped the Mainstream Top 40 chart in the United States of America.

In 2017 she released three singles like “Bad Liar”, “Fetish” and “Wolves”. According to U.S. Billboard, Selena Gomez has sold over 7 million albums and 22 million singles worldwide. She has also won MTV Video Music Award for Best Pop Video.

In 2010, Selena Gomez released her own clothing line and a self-titled fragrance in 2013. She has worked with various charitable organizations for years and became a UNICEF ambassador at the age of 17.

Selena Gomez is the most followed Instagram user in the world. She has earned numerous awards throughout her career which include an ALMA Award, an American Music Award, an MTV Video Music Award, a People’s Choice Award, 2 Billboard Women in Music Awards, 16 Teen Choice Awards and 10 Guinness World records.

In 2008 Selena Gomez started a relationship with Nick Jonas, the relationship ended in the early year of 2010 due to misunderstanding. In December 2010 Selena Gomez started a relationship with American Pop star Justin Bieber.

In early 2014 Selena Gomez was diagnosed with lupus. On 14^th September 2017 she announced via Instagram that her withdrawal from public events was because she had received a kidney transplant from her best friend, actress Francia Raisa.

Selena Gomez is currently one of the richest and most influential celebrity in the United States of America with an estimated net worth of $45 million.
